“The union of wheaty freshness and dark malt often produces a fullness of taste and complexity”, explains the world-famous English beer commentator Michael Jackson.

This also applies to the Ayinger Urweisse, which is a strong amber-colored, yeast cloudy wheat beer. The beer is strong with the first taste and malty in aroma. The top-fermented, yeasty taste sensation is unmistakable. This beer is rich in sparkle and has just a touch of a special bitter quality. The fruity, malty mild aroma will have you won you over immediately!

poured from a 17oz. bottle a cloudy tea color very large off white tight bubbled head that settled to just covering the beer and no lacing to speak of. smell of bubblegum then a fruity spice aroma comes through. taste bubblegum, bananna, clove. mouthfeel smooth, light, good carbonation. very tasty.

Awesome. I don’t know what color - tawny?? - it is but I love the look of an unfiltered beer. Aroma is very fresh very fruity. You can smell the clove and bubblegum. Taste is amazing. Dark spice adds to what you get in the nose. I’d swear there is some rye malt in there. A little thin but forgivable for all the other attributes. Great early spring or late fall beer. Really even appropriate for winter. I will drink this regularly.

Appearance:
Wow. Beautiful. Deep cloudy pumpkin color. Looks like autumn leaves. Big pillowing head.

Aroma:
Not strong. Banana. Clove.

Taste:
Cracker. Slight bit of Carmel. Faintest bit of banana.

Mouthfeel:
Balanced body. Substantive but still light.

Overall:
Just SO nice! Regal. Ayinger is the true king of beers.
If Hefeweizen were for September, this would be for November.

Appearance is foggy dark amber, shy of brown, with a tall, spongy and lumpy off-white foam head.

The nose exhibits hefe yeast but also fresh, botanical tobacco, a touch of light wheat and a hint of metallic hop.

The medium-full, satisfyingly round body, made all the moreso by the heftily persistent head, has a touch more spice and tang pairing with freshly baked but still soft zucchini bread and pear skin while exhaling a touch more toastiness.

Not as dark as I was expecting, but still a very pleasant brew.

Simply speaking one of the best beers I have had, pours dark amber, has a perfect dark wheat taste that is brighter and lighter than guiness but much darker than your stand weisse beer. If you like german beers, grab this one

0,5L bottle dated 26.02.24 included in a mixed six pack purchased in the brewery hotel lobby in Aying. Pours beautifully. The nose and flavor are flirting with “wild ale” character. Fruity, funky, yeasty, delicious. No surprise that this is ranked as one of the best in the world for the style. I find it truly amazing that this brewery consistently makes top notch versions of every traditional style. And with such an amazing property with multiple businesses south of Munich, I’d argue this is one of the best brewery experiences in the world.

500ml bottle into a tall glass. Best guess at age is bottled early this year, so maybe 4-5 months old.

Cloudy dull amber body with a strong off white head. Nice banana aroma, and it translates to the taste, which adds a spice note, some sweetness, and a solid grain bill.

Beautiful, dark gold and hazy. Slightly sweeter than expected but a hint of spice cuts through well. Refreshing, if not a tad heavy. As a dunkel novice I really enjoyed it though!
