I am an outlier because I prefer beers in the style of oktoberfests. This is the best oktoberfest I have had (or can remember at the moment). It is good from the first sip until the bottle is finished. No awkward initial tastes until the palate adjusts. This beer is worthy of the 5 i wanted to give it, but it seems like I had to justify it

Maybe the best German import Oktoberfest I've had in the US. Enjoyable balance of biscuit & hops and not as heavy as the American Marzens that fill me up after one drink.

A solid Oktoberfest classic. Poured from 500 mL bottle into large Oktoverfest mug. Pours burnt orange with 1.5 fingers of head. Very lagery malt aroma. A hint of earthy, caramel and spice notes. Drinkability overall very satisfying

This is really good, probably the best fest marzen l have tried to date! Very flavorful with a dry lasting bitter finish that lasts.
This is not a crusher! It is a beer to sip savor and enjoy. I can see why it is rather pricey. Really an excellent beer!

Definately a heavier beer, the kind of liquid bread europeans have for dinner, still tasty, but nothing so distinct you would write about. Not a year round drink, but great for colder weather.

Tried this one at El Capataz in Laredo, TX. Really good märzen. Nice biscuit, caramel flavor at the end.

Malty caramel on the nose.
Nice head and just right carbonation feel on tongue.
Taste like what an Oktober Fest-Marzen should taste like.
The gold standard.

Appearance: Pours clear golden amber with a little tan head from a bottle into a glass.

Taste and Aroma: Malt and caramel. Slightly sweet bread that is warmed but not toasted. Toffee. No unnecessary fruit, spice, or hop bitterness.

Feel: Medium-light body and carbonation. Clean and crisp.

Overall: Great beer. The bar is set for the Marzen style with this one. After all, they've had a very long time to perfect the recipe.

Pairing: It came with no surprise that this beer was amazing alongside a bratwurst topped with sauerkraut and nestled in a warm pretzel bun. I was a little underwhelmed using this beer to wash down a Bavarian pretzel with sweet mustard. I think it was the sweetness of the mustard throwing the whole experience off. I recommend instead going for either a beer cheese or a spicy mustard to dip the pretzel in. Lastly, Ayinger Oktoberfest offset a tangy traditional German potato salad spectacularly.

11.2 oz bottle into a Becher glass.
L: Pours clear medium amber with a 1/2" soapy/creamy eggshell white head that is lightly fizzy and recedes to edge skin, steady carbo bubbles, no lacing, carbonation settles down over time.
S: Caramel malts, a clean hint of fruit, distant apple, background grape notes, quite clean.
T: Gently sweet caramel malts, lightly toasted grains, brown bread, subtle fruit notes, very light citrus zest bitterness, lightly sweet across the length of each sip, a whisper of toffee, a touch of yeast dances around, has an enticing malty aftertaste.
F: Gently brisk, bright, medium-bodied feel with a semi-full middle and a clean & smooth lightly dry finish that sort of vanishes. Remains brisk to the last sip.
O: Has a most exquisite malt profile and a breezy finish. Excellent attenuation and feel. Absolute top-notch pure taste. Beautifully balanced. It is world-class in its style.
