A really good, intense bock, with lots of burnt malt, caramel and bitter-sweet taste.

Pours a dark-brown color with a medium top off beige head that dissolves slowly.
Aroma is of dark malts, bread, toast, dried fruits, caramel, nuts and spices.
The flavour is malty and bready with some sweet dried fruit notes allong with some burnt notes. The finish is slighly bitter with some herbal hop notes while the malty notes linger in the background. Aftertaste is long and strong. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a mediucarbonation and a medium body.
I found this bockbier really nice and tasty .

50cl bottle, bb in 4m.

Very dark brown with a ruby heart. Pale brown head with a respectable lace.

Aroma is quintessential darker kind of Munich malt, with a bit of roast to it. Bread, caramel, cookie, a bit of dark fruit.

The malt is pleasantly thick on the tongue, with plenty of licorice blending with the grainy sweetness. Bitterness cutting through and both continuing to vie for dominance towards a long aftertaste. A very succesfully full-bodied bock. Balance despite an abundance of taste, resulting in high drinkability.

A canonical example for the style.

Pours a very dark brown, which appears almost black, with a huge, bubbly light brown head.

Smells of hazelnuts, a bit of roast, coming from the malts, with a hint of whole grain bread dough. Upon this settles a light smokiness, which tones down the sweetness of the malts quite effectivly, emphasizing the beer‘s rustic character.

Has a great mouthfeel to it, which gently carries the bigger bodied beer in a silk, soft way, while producing a light effervescence during the finish, making this easy drinking all the way.

Tastes of toasted grains wrapped into mellow bread dough, with an aqueous note highlighting the beer‘s great mouthfeel from the very beginning. Turns way sweeter after the swallow with lots of caramel and a balancing leaf dryness, which gets intensified by a rustic spiciness. Finishes with its initial silkness and only a glimpse of the flavor intensity, experienced just a few seconds ago.

A Bock, which unfolds remarkably soft on the palate, while producing an interesting spice antagonist to the malts.

From Labirratorium. In Bavaria glass. Playing Blackwell Epiphany. More roasted and dark than usual in the style, with coffee and smoke notes as well as some caramel. Very addictive

Cola brown body with a large beige head. Smells of metal.
Wow, very much like a cakey stout. It is a touch bitter, but nothing distracting. No walnut like I was expecting. Plenty of rhubarb and custard in the finish. Weirdly reminds me of St Peter's Cream Stout. Almost liqueur-like black chocolate flavour. Classy mouthfeel. If you're in the mood for a restorative winter brew this won't disappoint.

Really dark brown color with light brown head. Aroma has dark, roasted malt and a bit of milk chocolate. Taste is really roasty with hints of coffee and chocolate. Body is light and well carbonated. Quite nice overall, easy to drink and more roasty than a regular bock.

Served in room temperature.

Appearance: Almost black. Pours an airy two finger head.

Aroma: Caramel malt, some toasty nuts & spices, little bit of yeasty chocolate.

Taste: Malt and dried fruit, hint of coffee.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, moderate carbonation.

Overall: It's a very malty brew, a bit richer than your typical bock. I've had it a number of times and I feel that it tends to be a bit better from the tap. It's a solid beer though, and nice for the winter months.

500ml bottle (Best Before dated: 11/13) poured into a large Pokal.

Pours dark brown; a nice clear dark ruby colour shows through in the light. Small beige head and thick lacing, but it dissipated fairly quickly to a ring. Aromas of malty lightly burnt bread, with a little sweetness and spice. Similar things in the taste; roasted malt and subtle sweetness, some dark fruit. A little bitterness comes through in the dry finish and the aftertaste lasts very well. Medium, slightly tingly carbonation, and a medium/full-body.

Nice drinkable beer. I've had two doppelbocks, Weltenburg & Andechs, and didn't make much of the latter in particular (not fresh perhaps, found them plain and one-dimensional), I'd much rather have this as it's closer to lighter lager styles. An "Eineinhalb-bock" if you will :)

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a good looking dark brown/black colour, with a nice off-white head.

Smells strongly boozy and malty.

Taste reflects the smell, with a bit more yeast and some hop bitterness. A nice full mouthfeel accompanies.

Overall this works out as being a great beer, warming and wholesome without being too much.

Some claim Ayinger Winter Bock is an alias of Celebrator and although I've never had both side by side I doubt they are synonymous, with Celebrator being better of the two.

Pours very dark brown, seemingly opaque body with ruby hue when held to the light, topped by mid-sized tan head that fades away rather quickly.
Nose is malt-sweetness with pronounced melanoidin and toasty, nearly burnt bread crust-like qualities, dried dark fruits and notes of chocolate. Some booze shines through.
Rich malt is dominated by roasted, burnt bread-like flavors and exhibits above mentioned fruitiness, while warming alcohol helps to balance out the malt. Finish is quite dry for such a malty beer, partially thanks to the prominent roastiness reminiscent of Schwarzbier. Aftertaste lingers and features both hop-bitterness and roast. Medium-full bodied with mild yet prickly carbonation.

In short, a rich Doppelbock with strong roast/burnt-bread character. (500 ml, into tulip).
