God, some of the beers that make it into my fridge surprise even me at times. Grabbed this one out tonight while watching movies. served cold and poured into a pint glass, this one was consumed on 02/13/2010.
Decent pour, nothing really standing out here for me. Nice dark amber color with a good clarity to it yields streams of carbonation that could be seen going up through the glass, Small head of white fades quickly and evenly leaving only token lacing. Aroma is bread, hints of caramel, light earth hops and a touch of grass. Clean taste, mellow body that is well carbonated and not overdone at all. Smooth caramel and light bitter finish leaves you a little dry and looking for another sip.
Overall not bad, I have to say this was a very nice and very sessionable little ale. Nothing knocking down the doors about it but it worked. Would not mind it again.

My favorite red ale still in production, since Rad Red isn't being made any more. This is one of few beers I like just as well on tap, in a bottle, or a glass.
It has an excellent color and aroma, good malt flavor, and just enough hops to keep it from being bland without overloading the malt.
