Hits the cloudy and yellow notes in stride developing a full one inch white head on the top. Impressive. Aroma smacked of a little bit of wheat, less lemon.

Taste really dropped a lot of the yeast phenols, thereby overcoming the wheat and clove aspect of the beer. The spice rack didn't drop as hard in the nose as it did in the mouthfeel. Some other stuff like banana was present as well. Lots of carbonation.

A- Alright....this Weiss pours a golden color with a generous yeast haze within. There are underlying tones of copper, orange and yellow hues against the light. The head is frothy/soapy and very dense/creamy in appearance....starts out about 2 fingers thick and settles into a grand looking finger thick layer.....lacing is very nice as well with plenty of strands worth of protein laced foam that clings very stickily to the side of the glass. Carbonation seems to be average and climbs to the top of the liquid in several columns. Overall a very nice looking Ale!

S- Initial aromas that border between sweet grainy barley malt and dry wheat kernels, plus the traditional fruity esters of banana, possible apricot kernel, baking spices such as clove, nutmeg and cinnamon, and there is plenty of brewers yeast involved with bread/biscuit.

T- I am getting plenty of cream and bread/biscuit to start.....yeast is plentiful on this one! Other lesser flavors of banana, mild spice that follows the nose, wheat grains, sweet malted barley and perhaps a slight tone of citrus (lemon and orange zest). The finish is clean and then the aftertaste presents plenty of malt and yeast. Very nice overall!

M/O- Super creamy smooth and velvety rich, this is a modest, yet superior in balance Weiss beer! I find this one not harsh in any way imaginable and feel that the drinkability factor is very high on this one....it's not overly filling and I think I could handle at least a couple in a sitting. Good with an apple pie slice.....highly recommended!

Picked up a single of this for under 2 bucks at the Allegheny six pack shop.

A - Pour is good hazy bright yellow in color with not a ton of foam which is nice for a Hefe just a 1/4 inch that settles to a nice ring.
S - Not as bright banana and bread tones one would expect but it does have a nice bit of fruity yeast and coriander for good measure.
T - Very smooth not too yeasty which I enjoy in a good Hefe. Again not too strong banana tones but a good wheat and bready body with coriander spice and a touch of hops. Good stuff!
M - Very smooth and drink able. One of the better of the style I have had as of late!

Overall I am impressed with this stellar wheat beer will be sure to drink it again!

Poured 11.2 oz bottle into snifter glass. 5.5 % abv

Appearance- Pours a lemon yellow with large white foamy head. Very hazy/cloudy.

Smell- Freshly baked bread, banana, clove, pepper.

Taste- Sweet doughy character with a fresh crackery malt flavor. Banana notes quite evident, not much unlike fresh banana bread. Some spicy hop flavor in there as well. Finishes sweet and peppery with a hint of bitterness.

Mouthfeel- Medium in body with active carbonation.

Overall- An incredible hefe. Excellently brewed with plenty of flavors and the right flavors. One of the best in its style. Hats off.

L: Pours a golden yellow. Hazy. A finger of white head which lingers.

S: Banana, bready malts.

T: Follows the nose. Banana not quite as present as some of the great ones.

F: Moderate to high carbonation. Medium bodied. Goes down smooth.

O: Definelty better than any of the u.s hefes I've had.

500ml bottle poured into Sam Adams pint glass.

Pours a cloudy medium honey yellow with three puffy fingers of pillowy white head that leaves bubbling magma lace as it recedes.

Smells of fresh white bread, lemon, sliced banana, clove, soft bubblegum and mild leafy hops.

Tastes of doughy wheat malt, banana bread, clove, tart citrus, soft yeast and more gentle hops.

Feels soft and creamy. Medium-light bodied with supple carbonation. Finishes off-sweet.

Verdict: Recommended. Tasty and refreshing.

Wheat beers should be drunk fresh. This last tasting was not fresh. So this stays a rating.
Listed on the "1001", this Weissbier still deserves it.
