L: Gives a cloudy light orange color. A big top of head that disolve very slow. Good lacings on the glass.

S: yeast, fruits like banana and citrus, spices especially cloves

T&F: starts of with a fruity sweetness, wheat, banana and some small citric notes. In the middle the spices get more dominant and cloves are very noticable.it finish of dry with a small bitterness in the aftertaste. The aftertaste disappear quite fast and sense a little to watery flavour in the end.the mouthfeel are crisp.

O: a good and decent beer but lacks a little flavour to be a topshelf weisbier.easy to drink but a little anonymous.

This brew pours a cloudy orange with a fluffy white head, some of which sticks around until the end, lots of lacing and more carbonation than one would expect from a Hefeweizen.
The smell is funky and wheaty with some orange and bananas.
The taste is full of sweet wheat with a bit of a citric acid bite. The orange and banana taste dominate with the finish being slightly dry and giving you a second dose of citric acid bite.
Overall this is a simple, easy to drink Hefeweizen which, according to the label, follows the Reinheitsgebot.

This beer pours murky golden in color. It has a solid, thick head to it. You see carbination looking at the beer. The nose is a beautiful wheat smell. The taste is very wheaty, and it feels good going down. A very good weiss.

Served cool from 500ml bottle into Weizen glass.

L) Light yellow-orange colour, cloudy, stable dense bright white head. Looks good, if a little pale.

S) Nicely robust clove / ester odour, nothing complicated here, bring on the hefe.

T) Fairly light, citrusy clovey taste. In the lighter half of the hefeweizen spectrum. There is light clove and orange in there.

F) Light and easy drinking, no nasty aftertastes or bitterness. Carbonation is fairly light for a hefeweizen; doesn't have the acidic bite from the fizz. Spot on.

O) Light tasting hefeweizen, this is subtle and high quality. Recommended to weizen aficionados.

Pours a hazy gold with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, yeast, spice, and slight caramel aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, banana, caramel, spice, and yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but nothing stands out about this one to me.

Serving type: bottle.

It pours out of the bottle a nice cloudy honey color with a large frothy white head that lingers and leaves a nice lacing in the glass. It smells of yeast with overtones of nuts and fruits. It tastes even better and for a hefe it will be one of my favorites while in Germany. It has a nice mouth that goes down smoothly.
A truly wonderful beer.

Pours a cloudy straw, golden with a hint of orange. Amazing giant foamy head and good lace retention.
Floral aroma. Hay and straw.
Sweet sugary taste. For me, more malt heavy than wheat . A tiny hint of lemon. Smooth and creamy. Low carbonation but still a bit crisp. Light to medium bodied but feels full in the mouth. Pretty filling like a meal. I liked this one.

Had on-tap in Berlin, poured into a tall weiss glass.

L: Pours a cloudy golden hue with ample head. Generous lacing.

S: Bananas and spices, mild citrus and cloves.

T/F: Pretty standard weiss. Yeasts and grains.. not an overpowering flavor. Slight citrus and mild banana. Decent carbonation.

O: Another typical German weiss beer. Decent for hot weather or with a meal. Very clean/crisp with no real negatives.... or positives for that matter.

Poured a nice light gold color with a thick white head that lasts a good while and leaves a light residual lacing. Smells of yeast, some clove, banana, citrus, bread. Taste is very light and refreshing with a bit of carbonation. Feel is very smooth and a little bubbly. Great Weissbier with a very easily drinkable, refreshing taste and feel. Great summer beer.

Murky yellowish-orange pour after adding in the sediment from the bottle. Thick, white head, that dissipates pretty quickly. Typical clove and banana but a little subdued. No noticeable hops. Flavor was lacking that sharp, tart, citrus aspect that I love about the style. A little too creamy on the palate. Not a bad hefeweizen, but not up there with the best German versions. It just didn't have that refreshing, effervescent quality.

3/28/15 (Bottle) - Golden blonde and a strong foam pour and strong carbonation. Nice wheat and citrus aroma. Enjoyed the crisp feel, and decent kick for an average AVB beer. Very pleasant taste, fruits present including citrus and slight banana taste. I really enjoyed this beer.

A clean and enjoyable beer to share with friends, women love it, no after taste with just a hint of banana flavor, the little bubbles fizzle in your mouth making you want to ask for more, very delightful beer that will catch you off guard if you let it...

The aroma is lightly spicy with a little banana and dough plus a touch of latex and browning apple. The cloudy body is a sunny amber with a white head. The flavor is spicy, sour, and bitter with some waxy, honey-like sweetness; the finish is grainy and mildly sweet. The body is somewhat light but well carbonated and spritzy.

A little too sour and bitter for my taste, and not well balanced with the more pleasant clove and banana typical of the style. Still, the texture is refreshing and the flavor isn't altogether bad. The aroma isn't too appetizing though.

smooth, creamy head, not hoppy at all. lightly lemony with hint of banana esther, but no discernible spiceyness.
no strange overtones or funkiness, just clean flavor in the biscuity sense; not overly carbonated.
different from your average lager. Not bitter at all, and not sweet, either. Very refreshing.
Like the first level of a Belgian tripel, but drinkable as a session beer... this isn't Hell, it's heaven!

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a weizen glass.

A: yellow, a little bit cloudy, massive head (had to stop mid pour to let it settle before I could finish pouring, and it wasn't at all an aggressive pour), lots of visible carbonation.

S: yeast and pear

T: Mild and sweet, almost like drinking apple juice with a gentle kick. I don't really taste bananas and cloves like I'd expect, but I do taste bubblegum.

F: crisp, slightly chalky.

Very nice.

A. Hazy bright yellow. Inch of white head.

S. Banana. Sugar. Malt. A nutty fragrance, maybe almond or hazelnut.

T. Banana and clove. Light pepper.

M Very light. Crisp. Tangy.

O. It's OK. I wouldn't put it up as one the best of the style. The clove is too powerful.

11.2oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Look: Hazed muddle yellow, beautiful bubbly lace

Smell: Fresh bread, faint banana peel, mild spice, nutty yeast, dragonfruit, doughy

Taste: Smooth, crisp bite, clean graininess, mild banana pith, vague spice, yeast, chalky, dried grass, modest hopping, finishes dry

Very good, a bit too clean for my liking ... expected a bit more of the banana and clove but without those two pushing harder it is still a very drinkable brew.

A: Yellow with a slight brown tinge, cloudy, 2 fingers of off white head, a little fine bubbled carbonation.

S: Bananas, cloves, yeast, spice.

T: Bananas, cloves, spice, almost a belgian style yeast. A little sour note.

M: Medium, bready body, with little to medium fine carbonation.

O: OK. Typical of this style, sort of cool German bottle. Would match salads and lemony light summer foods.

500mL bottle, shared with my dad. Perfect pour for a German Hefeweizen: cloudy orangey-yellow with a towering white head that hods tremendous retention - just awesome. Aromas and flavors are typical for the style - yeast, wheat, clove, banana, faint bubblegum. Refreshing, but thinner bodied than some hefes. Nice clean finish. Overall, great example of the style, but I like some other brands a bit more than this one.

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a hazy light to medium golden amber with a fine two finger white head with good retention and good lacing. Mild, but pleasant aroma of sweet bready malt, wheat and banana. Flavor follows with wheat, light yeast, banana and a hint of clove. Light bodied with pleasant carbonation. A nice, well made hefeweizen that does not stand out, but hits all the right notes and is mellow and tasty.

A: A cloudy yellow with little orange hues color, with a very big white head that disapears slowly and leaves some traces behind on the glass, carbonation is reach and enough to generate a permanent layer on top of the beer.

S: Maybe the weakest characteristic of this one, even it has the weissbier spirit and wheat is present maybe something else could be strong for the nose.

T: Lots of wheat and citrus the flavor is rich but not overwelming, some banana at the very end and some other thing maybe clove.

M: Refreshing and balanced, it has a neutral sensation not bitter at all and not sweet as expected.

Bought from City Super grocery store in Hong Kong. This beer has a great appearance which is perfectly cloudy and it has the color of honey. Poured with a large head that dissipated fairly quickly. No lacing on my glass which is beer clean.

Not a lot of banana or bubblegum on the nose for sure but I get some clove and a bit of a tart smell. The Konig Ludwig Weissbier Hell tastes a bit subdued right off the bat. Mouth feel is superb for sure and I definitely taste the tartness from the nose. Flavor wise, not a lot going on at first but the aftertaste is killer. Very fruity and sweet on the finish and it lingers. Tastes of fruit for sure and I get a bit of banana here as well. I agree with the first reviewer, it definitely has a tiny bit of a pilsener taste in there as well. Probably the same type of hops which there aren't much of in this beer.

Wow, longest review I've written but overall, a good hefe. I would definitely drink this sucker again. Not as complex as the big boys, or as flavorful, but a really great example of the style.

Why this doesn't rank higher confounds me. Added to an evening line-up of Weihenstepahaner, Ayinger, Kellerweisss...it holds its own if not betters some of the others. Ayinger hef is king for me but Konig and Kellerweiss rival it on all fronts. Summertime...and the livin's easy as long as these 4 hefs are at arm's length. Less of the bubblegum taste that the world's #1 ranked hef has IMNSHO. Franziskaner is no slouch, and Paulaner is just as good....but Konig is just plain delicious.

Got it in Greece.

A-Yellow-orange color,big white foam,lasting few minutes,few bubbles.

S-Maybe a bit tiny smell for this style, but mostly banana and some other pleasant fruits.

T/M-A bit watery taste, but mostly very pleasant and drinkable. Just a bit of carbonation needed in it.

O-Very drinkable and refreshing, decent for this style.
