Very nice double IPA. It's difficult to choose with so much competition in the IPA world. But this one belongs in the top

Orange haze with a lot of steady foam and nice lacing on the glassware. Had this beer in the storage cabinet for a year now, and I'm surprised how strong and fresh the hop aroma has been perserved. Lots of grapefruit, pine, orange, flowers, pepper and rye in the nose. Same flavours in the taste, very intense. Rye tends to dominate more when you're reaching the bottom, which is fine. Mildly sweet in the mouth, dry and bitter in the finish. Body and smoothness make it deviously easy to drink for a 8.5 abv, though the flavours can make it an 'acquired taste' thing.

330 ml bottle.
Amber/apricot colored body with a towering, creamy, off-white head.
Floral, fruity and herbal aromatics along with spicy rye.
Strong, hoppy flavor is moderately bitter. A good measure of rye spicing given the generous hop load.
Lightly prickly carbonation in a medium body.

Taste - rye bread, toasted, spicy, prominent hop bitterness, really high level.
Full body, soft carbonation. Severe and austere beer.

Pours a cloudy, maize color. One inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of citrus hops, alcohol, rye, sweet malt, hint of caramel malt, and a hint of pine. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a strong bitterness level. Tastes of citrus hops, alcohol, rye, slight alcohol, sweet malt, hint of caramel malt, and a hint of pine. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend.

Look: Hazy, amber, good head.
Smell: Pine, raisin, I tend to spot hints of chili.
Taste: Pretty sweet and bitter, rye spiciness.
Feel: Rye bread.
Overall: This doesn't fit me well. Heavy stuff, quite hard to drink. I guess some people will love it, some people will hate it.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass, sure why not. (Copied from Dec 16 2015 duplicate entry review)
Unfiltered looking appearance for the body at a simple orange amber, with fine light colored carbonation coming through to the top. Head is a big four fingers frothing and creamy disposition. Big tall head billows and just doesn't kick at all. Eventually some swiss cheese bubbles cut in the mix and a small island is left on top. Aggressive looking IPA.
This beer stinks. Big dank stinky notes of weed and earth. Spicy malt notes and some dry grain senses coming off the rye. Dry bread, slight caraway qualities, and big earth and soil tones.
Palate sort of doesn't quite measure up. Lightly wet bodied and fleeting palate. Washing strong dry grains and slightly watery mouthfeel give only just a hint of depth to the beer. Aftertaste really lacks as everything is in the front of the palate. Front palate washes with a little bit of dank earth, the aroma really seemed to hit of a bigger beer coming. Slightly peppery finish, and warms with just a touch of caramel.
Starts off pretty good but lacks in the palate making for a bit of disappointment. Things could be worse.

Pours cloudy hazel color with 1 finger tall thick head. Smells pines, honey, strawberry jam, tobacco. The taste is dry, spicy but faint. Bitter finish with a hint of sunflower seeds. Medium-bodied, medium-carbonated. All in all I can't say I really enjoyed it.
