Our Seventh Star IPA is a ripe, fruity brew that features the elusive Idaho Experimental #7 hop. This new contender boasts bright notes of melon, grape and strawberry, which we offset against a light swirl of Azaca hops, allowing for just a splash of tropical fruit. Like the Seventh Sister of the Pleiades, this divine IPA straddles the gulf between heaven and earth to deliver a truly cosmic experience.

Nice orange color with a little head and a bit of lacing.
Definitely a mango smell to it. Not overly hoppy but a decent amount of bitterness. I like it but not one of my favorites.

On-tap at Miller's Ale House, Watertown, MA

A: The beer is hazy dark yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high white head that consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of white grapes and strawberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of honeydew melon, white grapes, and strawberries. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is very fruity and the taste has an interesting mix of flavors.

After the disappoint that was (the exorbitantly priced) Golden City, I thought I'd give this hometown brewery another shot with their Seventh Star. It was marginally better. The problem is that the flavor is muddled - is it berry? flowers? grapefruit? coffee? It just tastes unclearly bitter and spicy. Not terrible, just not great.

Really enjoyed how Idaho 7 was implemented on this beer. Nose and flavor were fun and delicious... clearly a berry/strawberry angle to it. A little undercarbed tho and the appearance didn't promote salivation for me as do some of the other NEIPAs out there. Would absolutely buy again.

Drank it from the can, but from what I can make out, it appears pale yellow with a white head. Melon, berry, mango in the nose. Delicious tasting. Juicy with white wine, cantaloupe, strawberry, a spicy herbal bite and strong bitterness. Medium bodied with great prickliness in the feel. A great beer. Batch 37.

Big, close to three fingers head of cream white froth, large divots form in the surface as it evaporates but the overall retention level is good, lacing is basically just a few random splotches, nothing noteworthy. The hazy liquid remains bright if fully translucent, golden to lighter orange in hue, no beads just random bubbles. The nose has a dank and leafy foundation over which floats pretty floral notes, tangerine citrus, pine and moderately deep mango, apricot, peach fruit scents, little bit of everything and does not go long on any one element. Some initial bitterness through the attack but after that rounds into a plush, juicy experience highlighting pink grapefruit, tangelo citrus as well as peach, melon, mango fruit. Cocoa that verges on coffee bean and some honey and bread dough keep it smooth even as the carbonation churns up a much bigger storm than expected. The damp herbaceousness outlasts the fruit at the end. Lots of flavor but it too often feels pulled in opposite direction and comes off indecisive.
