12 ounce can into a teku glass. Canned 6/7/17, had 6/19/17.

Pours a hazy, pale yellow, with a half inch foamy head and a fair amount of soapy lacing. Smells of tropical citrus- pineapple, mango, tangerine, light peach, some pine, yeast, light malt. The taste is more pine and resin than the nose, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, light lemon, tangerine, malt, some caramel, a good amount of bitterness through the middle. Some sweetness. Juicy as advertised, smooth, a solid, lighter body, refreshing, well carbonated.

Very nice. Bright flavor and aroma, a good hops/malt balance. Goes down easy.

A sixer ran $11.99 USD at a Mariano's supermarket in Chicago, IL.

CAN: Canned 06-06-17. Pull-tab. 12 fl oz format. Great can art. Black and white motif.

HEAD: White cap. Frothy as hell. Consistency is smooth and even. Head retention is good - ~10 minutes. Leaves slight lacing on the sides of the glass as the head recedes.

BODY: Clear pale copper body colour of average vibrance. No yeast/lees are visible within.

Appears well-carbonated. Not unique or special, but generally appealing for an IPA.

AROMA: Hop-emphatic but more along the lines of a pale ale in terms of hop pungency. Floral notes, lemongrass, hints of tropical fruit (tangerine), pale malts, 2-row, maybe pilsner malt.

Aromatic intensity is average.

No booze or off-notes. No overt yeasty notes aside from fruity ale yeast esters.

TASTE & TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, refreshing, medium-bodied, soft, well-carbonated. Refreshing. Its softness is a highlight. Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or dragging.

Floral and oily hops. Tropical fruit. Malt profile is on the lighter side...pilsner, 2-row, pale. No crystal or caramalt to my tastes...sweetness is just sufficient to cover any overt hop bitterness without impacting the hop flavours.

Well-built. Definitely built to emphasize drinkability and lightness instead of hop pungency, which does bend it a bit more to pale ale territory than IPA, but it works for me.

Depth of flavour could use improvement. Flavour duration is above average. Flavour intensity is below average.

OVERALL: One of the more drinkable (I)PAs I've tried in recent memory, Lazurite is not only a solid pale ale (I don't consider it an IPA), but also a terrific introduction to WarPigs...I can't wait to try their other beers. It's not without its shortcomings, but it's better than most Mikkeller and/or Three Floyds (I)PAs I've tried to date, which is saying something. Were it like 17% cheaper (i.e. $9.99 per sixer), it might be a mainstay in my fridge. Even at its more premium price point, I still imagine I'll be revisiting's solid work in an oversaturated style.

L: drops brilliant gold under a 1" white foam cap with fair to moderate retention

S: smells like a biscuit smothered in tropical fruit, melon and citrus with a faint earthiness and a hint of garlic in the background

T: juicy with big tropical fruit flavors, melon, melon rind, mild citrus, citrus rind, citrus zest and a trace of supporting biscuit

F: juicy and creamy with a medium body and carbonation

O: a good beer to buy by the 6-pack

A - Pours an almost clear grassy yellow color with a 1/2" white head.
S - Aroma I'm getting is tropical fruits.
T - Flavor is citrus and floral, and on the finish just a touch of hard fruit candy.
M - Light mouth feel, average carbonation.
O - I like this beer. One of the best collaborations I've ever had.

Pours clear and a darker golden with a slight rusty hue and a finger crown of foam.

Bright citrus and tropical juicy fruit notes of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, and mango.

Juicy tropical and citrus hops dominate overall flavor but very smooth and balanced.

Medium-bodied, medium carbonation, juicy, clean, crushable, balanced.

Overall, quite an outstanding collab. In my experience collabs all short and are more gimmicky than anything, but this is a seriously well done brew!

In a world that's been taken over by the haze and juice, its nice to see a get-back-to-basics IPA emerge from the fray with the quality, intensity and ease that only Three Floyds and Mikkeller can.

With a full and fruity potpourri fragrance, Lazurite captures the nose with a burst of citrus, tropical and orchard fruit, and a peppery hop twinge to promise a finish with grit. Hazy amber and crowned with a creamy white cap, the beer introduces to the tongue with caramel, honey and all things seeming granola.

But then the hops explode on the middle palate. Leading with a rich tangerine flavor, a quick followup of lemon and red grapefruit seem almost tangy. Mango, passionfruit and nectarine bring a more exotic taste of the tropical and the orchard before a bitter grip of pine, fresh grassiness and pepper wrap around the throat. Leafy and lightly stemmy, the finish is crisp, clean and decidedly bitter.

Medium bodied and finishing dry, the beer's early palate sensations suggest a robust texture because of its robust fruit flavor. But the ale makes quick work of its malt balance as the hop shine and allow its resinous quality to assist in a dry and drinkable finish with a long linger of hop leaf and citrus peels.

my first warpigs beer i think, something i have been lusting after for awhile now, and i have been seeing around in the states a little bit. are they brewing this here yet? i would think so, although i dont know for sure, as this was on draft and with very little available information. golden in color, pale for an ipa, with a tall white head and constant bubbling from the bottom of the glass. aroma is citra driven i would suspect, or something a lot like it, lemon and orange, but soft not acidic or bitter, and with a delicate floral nature, as well as undertones of white grape, mango, and pear, and a little lupulin punch. its juicy in the flavor but it finishes bitter too, a balanced ipa that never gets too fruity or gets away from being bitter, although its definitely new school in its hop complexion, and its real easy drinking too. i think i wanted it to be a little more gripping and different, being a product of all this collective genius, but its hard to complain with fresh and delicious ipa. i hope to get into some weirder warpig stuff before too long, but this is a nice start to what i hope is a long and joyous journey of drinking their beers!!!

Clear honey color with a bit of sediment in suspension. Floral, tropical, and piney hop aromas in the nose, with noyes of grapefruit. Tastes soft and smooth, with gentler flavours than the nose suggests. Balanced pale malt body, juicy ctrus pith followed by a lasting pine and resiny hop finish. a very delicous and sessonable IPA.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a Three Floyds pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of white head that settles into a thin creamy patch.

Smell: A very hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus and pine. Big citrus hop scent of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, tangerine, and lemon with some pineapple. Earthy hop hints of pine and grass. Malt hints of caramel, cracker, and grains with some yeast. A very good juicy aroma.

Taste: Like the nose hints at, a juicy and earthy hop driven taste with notes of citrus and pine. Upfront juicy citrus hop notes of grapefruit, orange peel, tangerine, mango, and lemon with some pineapple. Earthy hop notes of pine resin and grass. Background malt notes of caramel, grains, and cracker along with yeast. A really good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy and fairly oily with a drying finish. Bitterness is moderate.

Overall: A very good IPA. Big juicy citrus flavor with a smooth body.

Canned 01/17/18

Appearance - Pours with a slight haze, golden hued and with a fair amount of sediment floating about. Chunky, off-white near two-finger width head that displays great retention before dying down to a thin, consistent layer of suds with a thick ring around the edges. Strong lacing with broken sheeting, lines and spotting.

Smell - Citrusy aroma with lesser notes of stonefruit and a hint of papaya. Moderate caramel malt undertone.

Taste - Follows the nose. Juicy citrus and mild peach with a touch of papaya, all tied down to a firm caramel malt base. Very nicely balanced. Finishes mostly clean with slight spice and a lingering juicy sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with a moderate amount of soft carbonation. Slick, velvety mouthfeel with an easy and slightly dry finish.

Overall - I hadn't had this prior, but I'd guess its held up well over 4 months. I would to have liked to try this fresher, but I should count myself lucky for even finding this and trying it at all. Very good IPA.

Canned 11/08/17, enjoyed in mid-January 2018, so still fairly fresh.

Appearance: Clean golden, with a huge head of near-white bubbles and lovely lace.

Aroma: Citrus hops all the way.

Taste: Citrus hops — I get orange zest and grapefruit here, with a touch of tropical fruit. Very delicious and this one holds up quite nicely after a couple of months in the can. Would gladly enjoy this one again, for certain. Really a standout.
