Notes: Made with seven hop varieties, this deep copper-orange IPA is loaded with juicy hop notes of pine, lemon zest, and a layer of pink grapefruit and a strong foundation of toasted caramel malts underneath it all give this beer a complexity that's unparalleled.

This one pours out a copper brown color with a two inch off white head that provides some lacing.
The aroma is surprisingly malty for an AIPA, though the hops are most certainly detectable in the nose.
Its flavor easily makes up for the lacking aroma though. Here the hops come out to play. There are hints of citrus (grapefruit), pine and a nice bitter overtone throughout the sip.
It is medium bodied and nicely carbonated.

This one is definitely worth checking out.

Unfortunately I was disappointed in this one. It had a nice aroma and taste, beautiful color, but I still found it lacking, just couldn't put my taste buds on it, the flavor seemed to disapate from my tonque too soon, though it was still drinkable, if someone offered my one, yes ... would I go out of my way again to purchase it, no.

My first time trying this brew since they changed the recipe. I have to say I was not impressed with the old recipe. Let's see.

12 ounce bottle, shaker pint.

A - A nice see-through amber color with nearly two fingers of eggshell white head. Looks nice.

S - Bitter, piny hop leads the way.

T - Big hop flavor. Mainly a bitter kick. Some fruity sweetness comes through. A bit of a metallic taste.

M - A medium bodied feel.

D - Still seems to be missing something overall. Not a hop bomb enough to be a big hop fix. Still, a decent IPA

A: Pours an orange-copper with a nice 1" cream coloured head. Decent retention.

S: Very sweet grapefruit citrus, sweet malt, caramel, tropical fruit.

T: Caramel malt blending well with sweet citrus. Pinneaple, mango. Lingering leafy hop bitterness in the finish.

M: Medium body, medium carbonation.

D: This is a decent IPA--nothing I would seek about, but enjoyable.

355ml bottle. ½ Pint glass. Enjoyed on jun´12. Amber color, clear appearance. Creamy, close crown, good retention. Mildy toasted malts & clean bitterness both in aromas & flavors. Light to medium body. Moderate but lively carbonation. Oily hops in the middle linger into slightly resiny dry finish. Refreshing.

Very, Very carbonated bottle bursts open and be careful pouring. Pale orange haze to the brew. Huge obnoxious head. Big hoppy nose with hints of sweetness. Very hoppy taste, but it lacks the malt balence. I do love hops so its errors are to my taste. It will not be as drinkable to others.

PS.. have I said it is over carbonated (bottle conditioned)

Alright you hoppy little bastard, you and I, we're going to the end together. 7 types of hops? Bring it on. I like hops. I didn't realize how much I liked hops til I had this beer. I loved the Stone Ruination IPA- though it wasn't as ruining as I'd expected. This guy, though... it bites hard. And I must say, I enjoyed it.

It pours an orangeish amber kind of color, good head, good lacing. Looks kind of muddy, kind of matte. Smell is hoppy and fruity with good citrus notes going on.

Taste is citrusy, floral, and bitter. Tangy, zesty. And oh, hoppy, a bit hoppy. A lot hoppy. This will wake you up in the morning. I love it though, it makes your mouth feel alive. Mouthfeel is bubbley, chewy, an attack on your taste buds, calling them all to attention. Lingers around for quite a bit.

I think it's pretty drinkable, though it'd seem most people would disagree with me. I wouldn't drink this before other, less intense beers- or any beers, really- I'd leave it for the end of the eve. Still, I rather like it.

Poured from a 12oz bottle

A- Light copper in color, no lacing and no head retention at all, a little dissapointing.

S- Not much smell going on here, slight hops but nothing like the label suggests.

T,M- Sweet malt in the front, with a weak hop taste at the finish, again nothing like the label suggested...

D- I guess i expected alot more from this beer, only to be let down with the hops taste. Take it from there if you want to embark on this adventure.

Light copper hue with a slight chill haze. Thin, tight ivory white head leaves Belgian lace. Grapefruit flesh, lemon tart like light caramel and hop nose combination along with understated pine. Somewhat tame aromawise. Assertive pith like hop bitterness dominates. Pink grapefruit hop flavor. Citrus burps result. Crisp, sharp, but one dimensional hop presence. Token light caramel and residual sweetness. Lacks firm malt backbone. Thinnish, very well attenuated, and passably dextrinous. Finishes lightly bready with hints of soapy hop, but otherwise dry and clean. Crisply hoppy, light on the palate, but otherwise lackluster. Squeaky clean and quaffable.

Poured a hazy, brownish head, copper to brown in color, and some streaky lacing.

Smell was caramelized malts, spicy hops, light grapefruit, and british yeast.

Taste was sweet followed by a complex hop bitterness from the combination of diffent style hops. Some fruitiness, and a bitter end. East coast style IPA pushing to be a west coast style.

Great drinkability though a tad sweet. A soiled IPA where east meets west . Nice.

This is a strange brew. The aroma is hoppy, but kind of vague in a way, it's not piney or floral. Pours a hazy orangish color with a decent head. I think I would have preferred that they just used a couple of high profile hops rather than a melange of hops. The flavors blend into a weird hops flavor that's not all that pleasant. It leaves an unpleasant after taste in the mouth too. There's nothing about this brew that would make me want to buy more of it.

A-Pours a slightly hazy amber with a one finger off white head that hangs for a bit and leaves little lacing.

S-Pine & citrus hops are evident with a biscuity maltiness. Smells good.

T-Citrusy, a bit of pine resin, just a hint of malt. Bitter bite and aftertaste. Not too bad.

M-Crisp with a surprising oily finish. But somehow it feels a bit thin.

D-Its a drinkable IPA, but not something I crave more than one of.

Overall, its a decent IPA worth a try, but nothing I'll seek out.

Beer comes out a little foamy, leading to a large 3+ finger head. I poured a second to make sure it wasnt' just this bottle and both poured this way. Deep gold color and leaves faint lacing.

Bold tart fruity aroma. A little spiciness there as well.

A little thin on the tongue. Starts with a hint of hops and finishes with a slight bite. The hope presence isn't as strong as I would have liked, but matches the nose.

Suprisingly drinkable, though. Not a bad beer to have more than one of.

Pours a one-fingered off-white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Hoppy/malty nose. Light carbonation and light bodied. Starts with a hop/malt mix but the hops quickly dominate and leave a lingering bitter aftertaste. $1.50 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, Ma.

Pours a clear gold with a nice white head and some sticky lacing.
Smell is, obviously enough, hoppy. Sweet as well.
Taste is mouth puckering hops, sweet enough to mellow the bitterness, citrus and floral notes shine through. The finish is lingering bitterness. Feels substantial and bready.
While it tastes pretty nice it is not too easy to drink a bunch of them. The 6% abv let you drink quite a few but the tastebuds (mine at least) can't handle that many.

Poured this one into a Unibroue tulip which yielded a large white head. Looked copper with moderate carbonation. The smell was a little grassy and tasted similar with bitter grassy hops and was offset with slightly sweet tastes of the malts. Not the best IPA I have tasted and by no means the worst, nice daily drinker though.

A: Pours copper with a nice finger of white head

S: Piney and floral hops at first, some toastiness, caramel malts, definitely some citrus notes as well

T: At first, a big blast of grapefruit and floral hops, the middle transitioning into a grassy, very bitter hop profile, and the end finishing with a bit of a briny/highly bitter finish. The malts are almost nonexistant in the taste.

O: This is pretty good, but I love double simcoe much better.

No question that this beer is intended to assault the senses with hops. I'm all for that in most cases, however this brew doesn't offer much else to balance the equation. The bitterness is predominate, out weighing the hop flavor and the barely discernible malt. I certainly wouldn't turn this down if offerred but probably won't go back.

A-Cloudy orange colored...frothy head.

S-A lot of canibusand tobacco on the nose...leafy..also some raw piney notes

T-Pretty raw and rough...bitter....piney hop notes lead..not particularly juicy or flavorful.

M-Medium to full bodied...hops control everything...not much malt evident

D-An unrefined, rough, raw, hop heavy IPA that doesn't appeal to me all that much. I'm sure some will like it but to me it just has too much pure hop bitterness without enough flavor (whether from the malt or hops)..
