Darker than average color for an ipa, this had an auburn and light brown appearance. Big almost 2" head. Aroma was very woody and not hoppy. Seems all bittering hops up in here.

Taste was a big time caramel malt impression. Substantially bitter and mild alcohol warmth. I think some Simcoe came through, but really, for something named hops infusion, this was a muddled typical grapefruit and caramel type of scenario taste wise. Label artwork was rad, I might be boosting the overall score because of it, I dunno.

Any proclaimed complexity is laughable, this is just a big bitter, big crystal malt ipa that has been done thousands of times.

The color is that of long unpolished tarnished brass, a thick sort of brownish-orange. It's almost muddy-looking, and completely opaque. The tan head isn't large but it's pretty tight. Lacing is left in moderate to heavy spotting.
There's a raw sort of sweetness on the nose before oily, resinous pine and citrus peel.
The flavor is primarily piney bitterness with definite citrus support. It's raw, earthy and lightly, but not overbearingly, pithy. Just a touch of biscuity malts adds balance. Fruity esters add an interesting element that runs all the way through.
It's about equal parts crisp and smooth, a good feel considering how thick it looks. It isn't particularly, and it's got a nice bite that carries through in its fairly bright medium body. It leans a little cloying, not from sweetness but that thickness does almost pull into it.
