Pours a hazy, dark amber color with an initial fingers worth of head that quickly recedes to a thin cap that leaves sparse, spotty lacing.

Smells sweet and malty, with some fig and plum, a hint of molasses and a note of alcohol.

Taste follows the nose closely. Dark fruits hit the palette first, segueing into some bready, caramel malt, and finishes with some sweetness and heat from the alcohol. Not bad at all.

Mouthfeel is on the heavier side of medium-bodied. This is a pretty big beer and a bit of a sipper, but it's nice and smooth. Carbonation is low.

Overall I found this to be quite enjoyable. Nice taste profile, and the bready malt, dark fruit, and sweetness all mesh well together. There's some heat from the 11.1 ABV, but it's not over-powering. A really nice interpretation of an English Barleywine.

A - transparent, caramel amber with a thin, white head

S - figs, raisins, caramel, faint bread

T - caramel, dark fruit, figs, raisins, faint bread, alcohol

M - warm, medium to full bodied, smooth

This is a nicely flavored beer. The alcohol is present and slows down the drinking a bit. Otherwise, it is a really decent offering with a solid body and good, malty flavor.

A- Half inch fizzy light-tan head on a ruby red body. Nice color. Small collar sustains until the pint is half gone.

S- Smells of "red syrup", red licorice, cinnamon.

T- Initial taste doesn't detect much until halfway through each drink. More cinnamon/licorice notes. Booziness comes in strong at the end although I wouldn't guess at 11.1%abv.

M- Thick mouthfeel. Low carbonation, but tends to fit overall profile.

D/O- Well I didn't think this was hitting me as hard as it now has getting to the end of the review. Appearance/Aroma/Flavors didn't really do a whole hell of a lot for me and now I why its rated the way it is. Pass on this one for just about any other English Barleywine.

A- Sort of a pale burgundy body with a very thin ring of white bubbles.

S- Very sweet malt, a hint a dried fruit in the nose as well.

T- Malty and sweet, pale malt comes through with a lot of prunes, raisins and some sweet grain.

M- Full bodied with a very sticky mouthfeel.

O- Nice Barleywine, nothing really stands out, but well-rounded and tasty.

A: A dark amber/ruby color with a thin tan colored head.

S: Toasted malt, cherry, alcohol.

T: Wow, the alcohol hits right up front and mixes with a nice cherry flavor and then a tiny bit of malt in the finish. The cherry, alcohol and burn lingers.

M: Heavy and syrupy and it burns.

O: I have to say that at first sip it is very, very harsh. You have to take a few sips and let it linger to acclimate yourself to the high alcohol. I think this one needs to be room temperature also. It's actually pretty good once you make it past the initial shock. Still the alcohol could be scaled back to say 9% to make it more drinkable from the start. But it's unique in it's own right and they have their own niche with this one.
