This beer pours a bold, clear yellow with finger thick head and nice lace to the finish. The aroma is lemony with a bit of spice and some grass. The flavor is lemon with notes of hay and mild hops with a mildly dry, vinous finish. The mouthfeel is light-medium. Weyerbacher Blanche is a good beer, a good representation of the style and a good pairing with tuna broccolli casserole. Recommended.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Slightly hazed golden pour with thick fluffy white head. Nice lacing.

S: Yeast and wheat. Spice and citrus.

T.F: Light grains and wheat... some tart citrus/orange rind and coriander. Spice and yeast... a bit of lemon zest. Easy drinking... light bodied and well carbonated.

O: A solid Belgian Wit. Nothing out of this world, but light, easy drinking, and well crafted.

Ah, the "problem children", those CANned beers with behavior problems that the brewery will ultimately lay at the CANsumers' feet & say, "We told you to keep it cool/refrigerated!" Do you imagine that we all have that kind of space?!? Inevitably, they will cause their aluminum surroundings to do weird things, with the worst case scenario being either a peeling open of the lid or a blowing out of the tongue through the vent. This one was a rare acCANdion!

From the CAN: "Belgian-style Ale brewed with Coriander, Orange Peel, Grains of Paradise and Star Anise".

The acCANdion pooching actually made it easier to Crack! open the vent. It was like a swollen leg with gangrene, pooched out & waiting, nay, begging, for release. I had to do this once when even the Corpsman was too squeamish. Hazards of being a hardcore punk who was also a Repair Locker Leader at a VERY young age. In this case, the gaseous release was MUCH more pleasant than that time. Once it had off-gassed, I simply upturned the m-f'er for a quick, inverted Glug. I was SO pi**ed at what it had done that I could have used it for target practice. I am better with a revolver than an automatic, in case you wondered. The .38-calibre snub-nosed police special remains a personal fave. Now, where was I? Oh yes, the barely present finger of fizzy, foamy, soapy, bone-white foam that played the magician's trick of "Now You See It, Now You Don't". 8=( Bye! Color was a cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose did not smell off so I proceeded. It had a pronounced spiciness, underlain with orange citrusiness. Hmm. That is what it is SUPPOSED to smell like! What caused the pooching? Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, just a few steps above watery. The taste was REALLY spicy, more like something I might brew up if I were so inclined. The orange peel was almost more of an afterthought & good riddance, frankly. Finish was super-dry, as should be expected in a beer that utilizes spices as adjuncts. Hmm. I liked it just fine, but I am perplexed as to its actions within the CAN. YMMV.

12oz bottle into a pint glass at Hucklebucks in Pottsville PA tonight.

Hazy yellow body, decent white head which diminishes to a ring. good carbonation, but little in the way of lacing.

There is a hefty hit of malt and wheat on the nose

This is a strong tasting wit, although I'm not getting any orange. The taste is quite pleasant, yeasty, and even grainy, which is odd because most grainy tastes are unpleasant.

Close to medium on the mouth, yeasty & wheaty on the finish.

Overall, another pleasant surprise tonight, a good warm weather beer on a humid night.

This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a semi-hazy yellow color with less than a finger’s worth of foamy white head that dissipated within less than forty seconds. No lacing was seen. The smell started off with a nice light sweet yeastiness rolling over top of a light coriander. Added sweet fresh grassiness proves a nice eloquent herbal-ness to balance. The taste was mainly sweet with the yeastiness balancing yet rolling underneath. A nice sweet to spicy semi-floral and grassy yeastiness strolls into the aftertaste and leads to a wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a super sessionable quality about it. Carbonated nicely as a witbier, the sessionability on this is amazing. Overall, some may say this is watery, I say this is just a really sessionable witbier.

Somewhat hazy yellow color. Spice followed by a slight citrus aroma but it seemed not one particular item stood out or overpowered the other elements. Above average carbonation which added to the sort of sharp bite it had. Taste was identical to aroma with coriander being a bit prominent. This tastes similar to their mellow monk beer which I also liked a lot. The style also reminded me of their Berry Monk which had a lot of elements but meshed together in a way that not one element dominated . I would imagine this beer won't work for some people but I enjoyed it as I do most beer from weyerbacher.
