Poured into a small chalice: color is straw, opaque, head is off white very thin and dissipates to nothing.

Smell is wonderfully full of a mix of aromas: lighter pepper, some well fermented notes malty fruitiness, light hoppy flavorsof lemon and citrus, and some subtle maltiness. Wow, this has some depth for a session like beer.

Taste is similar to the aroma with some great depth: again some mild pepper and ester flavors from fermentation, some citrus hop flavors and light bready malt notes. Fairly crisp and flavorful to keep flavors lingering strongly.

Mouthfeel is on par with some heftier Belgian style ales, in a good way: nice crisp and carbonated ale, fairly strong lingering flavors of the yeast byproducts and lingering hoppy citrus notes.

Overall, a an exceptional session style Belgian ale; a little crisp from the carbonation but it plays well with the stronger fermentation flavors - Merry Monks little brother lives up to its senior.

Poured 12 oz bottle into snifter glass. 4.5% abv

Appearance- Light yellow with thin white head quick to dissipate. Effervescent and as clear as a beer could be.

Smell- Belgian yeast, clove, grains, pepper.

Taste- A mildly toasted grain malt base with just a bit of yeast funk. Has a sharp and crisp boiled hop taste not too much unlike some lagers, but still finishes with some bitterness and clove, pepper spice.

Mouthfeel- Thin in body with medium carbonation.

Overall- A mediocre BPA. More kolsch like than Belgian like. Light on Belgian yeast and heavy on grain. Still not bad however.

Pours a light straw with practically no head. The nose has the classic Belgian funkiness. The body is light and the flavor is crisp with a clean, dry finish.

If you are looking for an easy drinking Belgian, this is a great candidate. I like Weyerbacher's big Belgians, so I thought I'd try this. It is as advertised.

It sits yellow and fairly flat in the glass, with just a hint of fizz and totally clear. The aroma is a strong Belgian yeast smell, very nice.

The taste is mild, balanced and Belgian. It is definitely easy drinking and goes pretty well with food. Recommended for when you want something that goes with food but also competes with it a bit more than lagers.

Came in a small tulip glass a dull light golden with a thinner white head atop.Mild yeasty phenols with a bit of lightly toasted bread,I picked up a bit of white pepper as well.Flavors of clove and mild honey with that light peppery spice in the finish. No frill and easy to drink, the lightest Weyerbacher beer I have had I believe.

Superb Belgian style ale. Pours a light yellow with a thin lacy head that dissipates quickly. Bottled 8/9/16, and enjoyed on 8/30/16. Smells enticingly light and sweet. Great hollow banana flavor like a hef without the clove. A bit of yeasty breadiness on the backside with an ever so slightly bitter afterglow. Perfect amount of carbonation. Not overpowering mouth feel at all. Tongue is left satisfied. I'm hunting down a case of this.
