Poured into glass from a corked bottle. It poured with thick two finger head and looked to be an opaque golden brown.

Upon first opening the bottle it had a very pine laced aroma that was very inviting.

A smooth drinking IPA that has a good balance of malt and hop. A little thicker then I normaly look for in an IPA but it is still a great IPA in my book.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Brooklyn tulip pint.

A: Pours a hazy amber with two fingers of off-white head. Looks proper.

S: Rich earthy and grapefruit hop blasts in fist. There is some white pepper and marijuana and a hint of the booze.

T: and complex. Its unfair to call it just 'sweet'. It certainly is balanced, but the hops are strong too. The earthy profile from the Simcoes dukes it out with the marshmallow sweetness of the malts.

D: Alcohol is well hidden for a beer of this size and the mouthfeel is pleasantly heavier than you're usual DIPA.

Overall: This is a very good beer. Most East Coast DIPAs fall of the edge when they reach for 'balance' and end up with an overly-sweet, underhopped mess. This is tasty and intricate and really one-of-a-kind. Its not a beer for hopheads, but its an IPA for fans of subtler style.
