750mL bottle. Pours a murky brown with a half inch of head. Some lacing. The aroma is ripe bananas, bubble gum and cloves. Not really smelling any of the Whiskey. The taste is really where the Whiskey Barrel flavor comes out. Banana, yeast, coriander, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves. Booze at the end with some woody notes and more of the banana. Whiskey finish. Lots of carbonation. It's an interesting mix of the Whiskey flavors and the typical Belgian characteristics. Pretty decent price too. Overall, intriguing beer I'd grab again.

A: Pours a dark, clear orange with two fingers of white head that fades into a frothy ring with decent lacing.

S: Candy sugar up front with lots of caramel and vanilla. There are also some bubblegum notes before light aromas of oak and whiskey.

T: Candy sugar with sticky caramel, vanilla, oak, and whiskey. There are also flavors of bubblegum and sweet yeast before a moderately boozy finish.

M: Medium-thick body with low carbonation, this beer is sticky sweet, but avoids being watery.

O: A pretty solid beer overall, and very reasonably priced. I'd like a bit more Belgian flavor and aroma, but the whiskey rules. Still, what's there is good.

750ml bottle poured into a glass. Finally warm enough to be able to sit on my patio for this!

Appearance: caramel colored liquid with a two fingered white head on top. Vigorous bubbling action in the beer. Takes a bit of time for the head to diminish.

Smell: plums and vanilla and spices, like a normal quad, but with some bourbon notes mixed in. Happy that the bourbon doesn't overpower the base quad notes.

Taste: at first sip, it tastes like your normal quad and then... BAM. The bourbon notes come out of nowhere. This has a lot of complexity to it. Not to the level of Abt 12, mind you, but this is still pretty darn good.

Mouthfeel: pretty full bodied. Sticky. Bourbon surprisingly doesn't linger, but the sweetness does.

Overall: definitely like this. Definitely expect to be feeling this bottle later on.

750 ml bottle was poured into a goblet.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced to a nothing. It is a murky crimson brown color with vision of bubbles coming up through the side of the glass.

Smell: Spice, caramel, bready, apple, pear, warm booze, raisins, figs, plums, vanilla, and a little oak.

Taste: This beer blends well together. The bourbon barrel adds depth and qualities to the beer. Once you get past the spice and booze, it's all good.

Mouthfeel: Whoa!!! Warm heat, full bodied, low carbonation, tingly spice, silky smooth, and quite the sipper.

Overall: I would like to try the base beer before it is aged in bourbon barrels for a comparison. Either or and they both would be awesome.
