disclosure: bad experiment in ageing. but found it, decided to try it. - pours deep amber with a white thin head that quickly disappears. cloudy with visible yeast sediment. aroma is a combination of different elements of oxidation. green apples, estery/solventy and horse blanket. there's no hop presence left. so the remaining flavors are just malt sweetness and maybe some candy sugar. surprisingly the oxidation from the nose, does not carry heavily into the flavor. its almost all malts like a Scottish ale. body has thinned out, carbonation is also very light and there is an astringency that borders on harsh. despite all this, it finishes dry and only the above mentioned harshness lingers on. - way past its prime

I love the Verboten. It's a smooth beer with a hoppy finish. It pours a translucent bronze (light amber), and smells faintly hoppy. It tastes sightly sugared and sweet, but with a disappointing yet decent finish. The bitter aftertaste doesn't mesh with the initial smoothness, and it detriments the beer's overall taste.

Regardless, it's a great beer.

It goes down easy like a lager, with a lot more flavor.

Drink if you want a great Weyerbacher beer, and an interesting hybrid between sweet and slightly hoppy.

L: An amber pour with a slight orange tint and a light haze supports a quickly receding 2” off-white foam collar. S: Estery aromas rise form the glass. T: This yeast driven beer features fruit, plum, apricot, orange, and some caramel and toffee with a moderate bitterness. F: Medium body and medium high carbonation. O: A well balanced and drinkable beer.

Amber to copper in color with about 1/2 inch of head. Minimal lacing.

Smell is high on citrus - lemon, lime, orange too. Also am getting a earthy note. As it warms, a medicinal smell comes out as well.

Taste is light citrus and mild sweetness with a hoppy finish. Am also getting some spice as it warms up.

Mouthful is light with medium carbonation.

Overall a nice beer which begins to resemble more of a saison than a bpa.

6/3....pours copper orange color with some white foam ringed around. Cherry sugar nose, sweet. Cascading belgian yeast flavor, peppery, smooth. Balanced bitter. Quite good.

Smells of citrus and melon with floral accents. Refreshing. Good foamy light head and pale ochre color. Cucumber after taste

Nothing bad nothing special. I am not a fan of belgian fruitiness with the hops.
