Tango is a big, bold, Belgian-style dark ale brewed with 1,200 pounds of cherries!
Tango pours a beautiful ruby color with a nice fluffy head, offering a very complex aroma of cherries and other dark fruits. The strong 750 ml glass bottle finished with a cork and cage allows the very robust bottle-conditioning responsible for Tango’s effervescence. Dark fruit flavors join the cherries to match up with the strong malt bill with the Belgian yeast adding its 2 cents along the way.
Tango weighs in at 10.6% ABV and was brewed using a base of Pilsner Malt with Honey Malt, Special B, Aromatic Malt and a touch of Chocolate Malt. Apollo hops balance all that sweetness to 35 IBU.
Tango debuted as the 20th installment of Weyerbacher’s Brewers’ Select series in November of 2011, however, it wasn’t bottle conditioned and was a tad lower in alcohol.

Not only does this beer taste delicious, it feels “delicious” in the mouth. The rich body matches the flavor profile. This is a big beer but not overwhelming. I hope to see it again.

I had cellared this bottle for some time. Bought on Jan 15 - brewed in Oct 14. This bottle was put into a dark basement that was relatively temperature and humidity controlled.
Appearance - beautiful. Ruby hinted tinge to a traditional ale, with what is surprising carbonation after so many years. The carbonation is perfectly balanced for this beer. The pour settles in seconds with a bit of foam. It all feels natural.
Taste and Aroma - My smell sucks...so here goes. Dark fruit, nothing overly funky or upsetting. This is like a beautiful beer went to bed and woke up acclimatized.. Taste -- love it. Its a Belgian style, without the heavy onset of dark fruit that transitions elegantly to a subtle but present cherry hint. All the way supported by a subtle malt backbone. Its as if someone who brewed this beast knew what it would evolve to in 3 yrs afterwards. Very appreciative and glad I saved this bottle for aging.

Weyerbacher Brewing Co. "Tango"
25.4 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, corked & caged
$7.99 @ Cherry Hill Wine, Liquor & Beer, Cherry Hill, NJ
Sampled on 23 April 2016
Look: Ruby-accented chestnut brown body beneath a finger thick head of foamy khaki/light tan that drops quickly to become denser, then holds, eventually dwindling to a thin collar. Spotty streaks of lacing are left behind.
Smell: Belgian yeast phenols, caramel malt, mild cherry, other dark skinned fruits.
Taste: Spicy, clovey. Golden and medium dark caramel maltiness with some toastiness. Moderate cherry. Sweetish. Honeyish. Drying oak. It coats the mouth but then finishes drying with residual malt, cherry, spice and a spritz of alcohol.
Feel: Medium bodied with a very-fiine bubbled effervescent carbonation that bristles, tingles, and then warms to become airy then smooth.
Overall: Excellent given the price, and still excellent disregarding that. Definitely worth trying, and probably stocking up on.

L: Poured from a bottle to a goblet. Had a dark brown color and a cloudy consistency. There was a big, off white, foamy head that lasted an average amount of time. OK Lacing.
S: A solid aroma of cherries, dark fruit, yeast, and a sugary component.
T: Tasted of a good amount of Belgian yeast, a lot cherries (not as much as I expected), some dark fruit (plums and figs, in particular), light malt notes, and some caramel as well. Quite a vibrant flavor that's more centered on fruit than anything else. An interesting and likable taste.
F: A highly carbonated beer with a sharp, lively finish. Medium-bodied.
O: On the whole, this is a solidly made, easy to drink beer. It won's necessarily set itself apart from other BSDAs, but it's definitely drinkable.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into pint glass in October 2016. The drink by date on the bottle was 11/05/2017.
Appearance: Deep brown with dark tan head. Beer is clear. Head is average, and and did not leave much of a film/lacing on the glass.
Smell: Aroma filled with mix of cherries, sweet caramel, and malts. A little hint of pepper. Nice variety and balance.
Taste: There is an interesting mix of sweetness from the malt & cherries, and just a little bite from the hops. There is a little chocolate flavor, and I get a nice soft caramel and honey flavors and some other berry flavors. There is a little alcohol bite as well. This was done in a nice combination with the other flavors. There is a nice variety of flavors in the aftertaste too.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Strong alcohol level, which confirms the 10.6% on the bottle.
This is a smooth medium-bodied Belgium Ale. It is an interesting combination of flavors, especially with the cherry, chocolate, honey, and caramel flavors.

Cloudy copper red. Persistent fluffy fizzy blanket.
Cherry and breadiness on the nose--maybe like a cherry cobbler.
Taste is cherry, a touch acidic, with a fair amount of Belgian yeast.
Fluffy feel.
