Last Chance IPA, 5.9% ABV, is a full-flavored hop assault delightfully lacking in balance. We’ve added a combination of Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe® and Columbus hops to produce pungent aromas of grapefruit, pine and citrus.

Weyerbacher Brewing Company donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every drop of Last Chance IPA to small, local animal rescue organizations. These shelters offer dogs, cats and other pets their last chance to find a new home.

(purchased from brewery... bottled 04/07/2014 - best by 08/07/2014... poured into a balloon)

A: fiery amber hued liquid, completely clear-filtered... the head seems rather loosely-structured for a well-hopped beer - it doesn't keep around too long, though a thin cap remains as well as some random bands of lace

S: barbeque-toasted wood, overripe juicy navel orange, mixed berry, sun-scorched grass... quite a potent intensity overall... mellow essence of booze in the back

T: spicy-herbal hop bitterness - biting hardest in the finish... "herbal" as in a bay leaf, "hard-biting" similar to the punch and menthol-like coolness of wormwood... the malts are light, clean, and smooth, retaining a bit of the toastiness from the aroma which also may in part be attributed to the Centennial hops, which tend to have a roasted-nutty, toasty character used in abundance... this is all about the assertive, stinging bite of West Coast style hopping here... certain notes of toasted-near-charred wood grain lingering in the aftertaste... like they say on their site, this isn't balanced - huge void of true malt presence

M: soft, fluffy wash of suds over a very dry, compact, and light-bodied malt foundation... definitely easy to knock back... delicate caress of mildly-warming booze

O: an aggressive, earthy-bitter, toasty, dry, hoppy beer that will pair very well with barbequed meats... what more can you ask for during the summer?
