These guys are hands down my favourite brewery. They have not yet released a beer I didn't like (not counting the IPA's; I haven't tried them because I don't like IPAs...). The brewery itself has a ton of selections on draft, and some nice merchandise available. The weekend of their anniversary, they had great live music and really good food. If I lived closer, I'd be there every weekend.

Finally, one of my favorite breweries. Easton is a cool town too. In an industrial park as usual, Weyerbacher has a stylish tasting room, lively, manned by friendly folks. A bar, the brewery behind, merchandise shelves...

First time I visited I counted 13 taps, including 6 year round, 3 seasonal (autumnfest, wit, imperial pumpkin), 2 rare (d’tango, 20th Anniv) and 2 brewery exclusive (Jester’s Choice II APA plus Ales for ALS). On my next visit the count had gone up to almost 30 taps! Including three different barrel-aged Insanity variants and a bunch of brewery-exclusives. I had a most excellent time and will revisit often, forever.

The service wasn't excellent, but in their defense they just tapped Sunday morning stout and it was crazy here.

Their website warns “Youngsters are welcome to accompany their parents to the Tap Room and go on tours, but it should be known that we have nothing but water and bar-top thin pretzels to offer them. Make sure your little ones have whatever they need in order to maximize your enjoyment of your visit!” This is very true. This place is not prepared to handle kids. We were lucky enough to find a high side table and when we were unable to find a stool for the kid to sit on the staff allowed me to stack a few cases to create a seat against the wall. The vibe is adults standing room only which even if we did not have a minor with us I would have not liked. Quality is solid, as it should be but not extraordinary. Service, they had enough staff. Selection, they had all their beers but I did not see anything that read “Brewery only exclusive”.

Head north on 611 and make a left at the bridge. Up on a hill is Weyerbacher. Pretty decent size building with small parking selection. Tap room is right in the warehouse part of the brewery where the beer is stacked on top of each other and forklifts zooming around. Bartenders are nice but a little shy. They have most of their beers on tap. I had the Blasphemy Quad which is dynamite. Not really a big food selection, just basic snacks. Nice place for a tour and to hang out after.

Arrived early afternoon on a Friday and there were only a couple of other people inside. The bar is located right in the middle of the brewery where you can see some of the working operations right in front of you, which was pretty cool, but made the vibe inside a little "cold." A wide range of their beers were available on-tap (pay as you go) in 4 oz tasters as well as regular sized pours for on-site consumption, and growlers to go. Service was friendly and willing to provide more detailed descriptions of each beer. Perhaps my favorite aspect was that you can buy any bottled beer they have available in any quantity you want. Just fill out a sheet with your selections and one of the staff members will quickly pack a box to-go for you. There are also a few racks off to the side with a small amount of merchandise available for sale. I walked out with a mixed 6-pack, a cuvee glass, and a smile on my face.

Right in the middle of the brewery, with forklifts driving by the bar and stacks of beer everywhere. The bartender was knowledgeable, if a tad condescending, and there were a ton of beers on tap. I really liked though that almost every one was available in bottle form.

Drove the hour from my cousin's place to check Weyerbacher out. It's a warehouse type room with a bar with limited seats and a few tables surrounding it. In the back there's stacks and stacks of beer. There are signs with the available beers, but even though some were unavailable they still had them up. Service was a bit understaffed - took a little while to get a beer. The beers were okay, they didn't have anything special available at the brewery. Pretty cool spot though. Probably won't be back but glad I checked it out. For food, they had bowls of those mini pretzels you can buy at the store.

Living within 30 minutes has a definite advantage and we go there often for fills and beer to go. Weyerbacher recently started selling pints on premise which is great compared to how it was in the past with small samples only, they now can sell beer to go in varying quantities as opposed to case quantities only (PA beer and liquor laws historically have been very quirky if not antiquated to say the very least). They also have a food truck on premise and a fully renovated Visitor's Center. If you're ever visiting the Lehigh Valley, Weyerbacher should be one of your stops.
