Spears is a nice little spot in the busy Lake Cook and Milwaukee Ave area of Wheeling. I've been here several times for lunch, dinner and drinks, and just drinks of which it is great for all.
The bar sits less than 20 people which you can grab yourself otherwise you'll need to be seated in a a table. There are some big bar tables near bar but you must be seated by host.
Beer selection is great and always rotating, they keep a paper draft list so that its always up to the latest. I went in one night to enjoy some 2016 BCS that they had tapped in early Dec. Waitress was very nice and informed me they were about to tap a keg of Allagash Curiex and even brought me a free sample after they did.
Food is awesome. Have only gotten burgers ans there are many to choose from - bison is one of my faves. Also for dessert- get the funnel cake and pair with a stout!
There's a great whiskey selection here as well. They had Pappy 12 year and ORVW when I was there.

Clean and comfortable restaurant and bar that specializes in bourbon, burgers and craft beer. The quality of the beer is average to above average. Service was fine. They have 12 beers on tap and lots more in bottles and cans. I have not tried the food.

The selection is noteworthy. The vibe and surroundings set you at ease and have a more open feel. The service at the bar is great, but the staff tends to fraternize among themselves after they serve you. The food is significant, but not what you come for. Its a place to drink than a place to eat, as well, so in that sense, it is a pub, not a destination eatery; a destination pub with food to make it easier to kick up your feet. Nice beer selection on tap if you're not into the whisk(e)y, which is quite significant for the area. This is more a whisky destination, but has enough beer to taken on the best beer bar in the area. In that sense, for the area, it is a 5 for quality.
