This was yet another Sand City beer that I traded for, though I have no idea when as there wasn't a date or anything else written on the bottom of the can. Full, balanced, and easy to quaff, this was a nice beer that got easier to appreciate as it warmed up. While a bit weak for an American IPA, there wasn't much else to dislike about this brew...
Not a bad appearance to this as the liquid was a translucent gold with some haze to it and plenty of light seeping in around the edges. Plenty of head topped this off as the lacing along the side of my pint glass was quite soapy and extensive. The aroma could have been a bit better as there was some tangerine, citrus pith, oats, and earthy hops in the mix as the taste was a bit slicker and brighter than the aroma led me to believe. Lemon pepper, spice, bread, and grain emerged as this warmed up with the body coming through once the initial twang subsided. Lightly carbonated, balanced, and a bit dry, this was an enjoyable beer with a mildly earthy feel to it.
The amount of alcohol was on the lighter side as this nearly came across as an American Pale Ale to me. While not the best offering from Sand City, I enjoyed this and how well it held up during the months I had it in my cellar. Well-rounded and enjoyable, this was an IPA that was weaker than I expected but just as satisfying as it's heavier contemporaries. Worth seeking out for those out on the island...

Canned 3/10/17, brewed with 2-row malt and oats and hopped with Simcoe, Centennial, and Amarillo... Lightly hazed pale gold body, full head of ivory foam left some lace traces down the glass... aromas of mild citrus, fresh grain, with faint floral and herbal impressions... Flavors suggested much of the same, mildly bitter, with a light feel, ample carbonation, and a clean finish... Very nice...
