On tap at Sand City 4/15/16.

Another home run from Sand City. Missed this on St. Patrick's Day and was really glad to have another opportunity to try this.

A- A hazy golden straw with a two finger white head.

S-Citrus, limes, some grapefruit, tropical fruits, pineapple, some melons, a little dank and piney.

T- Citrus, limes, grapefruit, pineapple, touch of touch, piney finish, dank.

M- Smooth, medium body.

O- A very nice NEIPA, easy to drink and I really enjoy the balance the bitterness brings to it.

Like just about all of the other beers that I've recently been clearing out of my basement stash, this was something that I traded for a while ago but took ages to get to. No date on the bottom of the can but this poured, looked, and tasted as fresh as could be given how little sediment ended up at the bottom of my pint glass. Given how green jade is, the name of this beer was appropriate since it had a nice hop lineup in it and it was smooth enough to proverbially fade into green once the initial burst hit my palate...

This had a hazy, golden hue to it with plenty of foam to top it off as the thick, soapy ring along the top of my pint glass was as good as any remnant that I've seen i quite some time. Lots of orange, vanilla cream, dank hops, crisp pine, and wet grass emerged in the nose as the taste was much more hoppy, juicy, and reminiscent of fruit cocktail. A subtle white peach presence came through by the time I finished this off as this beer was more complex than it initially indicated.

A lively carbonation with plenty of alcohol kept me on my toes without detracting me from the booze that this contained. The pine shone through more and more as this warmed up until it became the dominant tone, complete with resin and a crispness that lingered on the palate long after I finished this off. The dry-hopped nature of this beer ensured that it remained smooth but it was a bit too heavy for me to completely praise. Fun stuff that did indeed, fade to jade and was on par with Sand City's other offerings but not wondrous enough to be rated higher in this highly competitive category...

Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a fluffy white head that leaves tons of lacing. Smells and tastes of lime, ripe pineapple, orange, grass, sweet malts, pine and an earthy quality. Light to medium bodied, carbonation and bitterness, smooth mouth feel.

Tall can - 2/8/18

Great looking NE IPA, about medium haze, frothy and lasting cap, leaving fine fields of lace...nice

Nose and palate are awash with ripe pineapple, lime, luscious hoppy dankness, citric and resiny finish...splendid stuff

Surprisingly clear, with a slightly sandy haze, Fade to Jade has a large white foam that settles to a lumpy blanket and leaves an otherworldly amount of symmetrical spotted alien art lace.

Smell is spicy eucalyptus mint, vanilla creamed lime, lemon-orange, a hint of rug and PEZ.

A nice juicy tang splashes on the tongue, simultaneously exhibiting some spicy yeast and a hint of green dank pine. Orange-lemon Smarties rides along a medium body with a crisp froth and a dry, almost chalky chew.

This under the radar brew, while not opaque turkey stock, is a pretty spot-on New England-style IPA, in both flavor and aroma.
