Surprisingly clear, with a slightly sandy haze, Fade to Jade has a large white foam that settles to a lumpy blanket and leaves an otherworldly amount of symmetrical spotted alien art lace.

Smell is spicy eucalyptus mint, vanilla creamed lime, lemon-orange, a hint of rug and PEZ.

A nice juicy tang splashes on the tongue, simultaneously exhibiting some spicy yeast and a hint of green dank pine. Orange-lemon Smarties rides along a medium body with a crisp froth and a dry, almost chalky chew.

This under the radar brew, while not opaque turkey stock, is a pretty spot-on New England-style IPA, in both flavor and aroma.

Can picked up from the release this morning, poured into a snifter. This beer pours a wonderful, bright fluorescent yellow with medium haze and an extremely tight, flawless, white head. The aroma slowly fills the room instantly after cracking the can. Huge, complex tropical notes of papaya and guava, dank pine, sweet caramel apple, pineapple juice, candy gummies, overly ripe peaches, dried apricot, and an interesting citrus mint character coming through. Mouth feel is nearly perfect, an incredibly soft and creamy consistency finishing with medium pine and grapefruit zest bitterness. It's all there in the flavor as well, just with more of the grapefruit and pine coming through. Truly a world class brewery.

Fresh can poured into a flute.

Foamy white head, thick, instant burst of hop aroma. Citrus zest and earthy resins. Golden to copper color with a bit of haze.

Flavor is bright and crisp. Lots of layers of citrus including bitter grapefruit rind, sweet tangerine juice, and zesty lemon. An earthy grass flavor also, and the malt is noticeable and little toasty.

Moderate carbonation and medium mouthfeel.

Overall a great brew, these guys have been canning some tasty hoppy options.

-crowler (filled today) to glass: optically clear yellow pour with thick, sticky foam. Sweet, tangerine-mango aroma with a hint of pine. Taste is full citrus- pine. -Satisfying, albeit, sweet finish.

Tall can - 2/8/18

Great looking NE IPA, about medium haze, frothy and lasting cap, leaving fine fields of lace...nice

Nose and palate are awash with ripe pineapple, lime, luscious hoppy dankness, citric and resiny finish...splendid stuff

Pale golden ale with a slight haze, fat head of white foam, and tons of lace down the glass... Lots of pale orchard fruits on the nose, sweetened as if by honey... That continues on the taste, a blended pale fruit medley, honey-like sweetness, but very light and fluffy - whipped fruit honey? Soft and smooth, light mouthfeel... Delicious, really, with just a mild bitterness and a gentle finish...

Pours Amber with a nice head. Aroma of tangerine with hints of pine. The flavor follows with fleshy mango, including the peel. Very well made. Big fan of sand city.

16 oz can, no date, poured into Teku glass.

L: 1F+ head, not great retention, leaves a lot of lacing and a thin cap and ring. Beer is a hazy pale gold.

S: Mixture of earthiness, malt, and some citrus. Might be a bit old.

T: Lots of earthiness, herbal character, and pineyness, with some citrus and tropical fruit trying to break through. Light cracker malts. Over the course of time, I've learned to not love Citra and Mosaic together; they seem to fight rather than complement. Amarillo comes through pretty well, though.

F: Medium bodied, light carbonation. Earthiness lingers on palate. Good construction. Balance OK.

O: Pretty good IPA.

Growler pour, it's hazy gold color with a 1-2 finger white head that faded slowly and left great foamy lacing and rings as it went down. Sand City standard good looks for an IPA.

Smells and tastes of lemon, orange peel, tangerine, red grapefruit, graham cracker, white pepper, fresh cut grass, dank piney hops, fresh weed, coriander and mild spices. Just enough malt backbone to balance it and let the hops be the star of the show again. Flavor has caramel, biscuit, toasted grains, faint brown sugar, starfruit and more citrus hop complexities.

Mouthfeel is medium and crisp with a malty sweetness, light carbonation, a slight bitterness and a nice finish that mixes crackers, citrus hops and brown sugar/toffee. Really easy to drink, a session beer for sure in my book.

11/3/2016-Had a can that 'Boccu' gave me and it was really tasty, very smooth and well balanced. The hops may have faded a little since this was canned a month ago, but it was still super fresh tasting with a handful of citrus flavors mixed with piney notes, a malty/caramel sweetness and floral accents like dry hops were used. Upping the overall rating from 4.25 to 4.5 since Sand City has this shit down now...love that this brewery is so close!!

Pours an opaque bronze. Decent sized head with little retention. Nose is piney, grassy, a bit spicy. Taste follows suit. Earthy, rich malt notes.

A bit on the thin side. Not really my cup of tea. This is a far cry from the style of IPAs that these guys are supposed to be known for. Not a bad beer overall, but a poor representation of what SS has to offer.
