Notes: What we've done here is create an amplified version of our Mofosaic IPA. This single hop Imperial IPA is brewed with English and American pale malts and flaked oats. Hopped intensely and singularly with Mosaic hops.

Served in a goblet from the can.

Appearance: Semi hazy with a gold color with a white head rising a nudge over one finger's length off the body.

Smell: Light floral aroma which dissipates quickly from the nostrils.

Taste: Feels a bit like an imperial lager, oatmeal and heavy malt coming off bitter and filled with heavy yellow grapefruit juice.

Mouth: Soft carbonation. Easy to drink brew.

Overall: Good brew but wasn't as good as some other gems I grabbed from Sand City. Salud!

A: The beer is very hazy pale yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that left lots of lacing down the side and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of lime are present in the nose along with notes of mango and cream.
T: The taste has flavors of mango along with notes of lime and cream.
M: It feels medium-bodied, smooth, and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The aromas and flavors in this New England IPA are quite complex and intense for a single hop IPA.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass; no production information.
A: Pours a virtually, crystal clear, bronze color with a one to two finger, white head, modest retention, and sticky, complex rings of lacing all the way down the glass.
S: Aromas of orange, caramel, and pine with a cocoa note.
T: Semisweet. Palate follow the nose. Bitterness far in the background.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nearly creamy.
O: A well crafted and enjoyable AIPA. Whether it is a NEIPA seems open to question.

Traded for this a while ago, as there wasn't a date or anything else written on the bottom of the can. Yes, there was a lot of sediment in the liquid but even with that factored in, this was a great beer that was incredibly smooth, balanced, and enjoyable all at the same time. For a New England IPA, what else could you ask for?

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a moderately radiant apricot with plenty of particles in it, but that was probably more my fault than anyone else's as I let this sit for quite some time before getting around to it. Plenty of head topped this off and the soapy lacing was quite extensive as well, as it covered up nearly half of my pint glass as I worked my way through this. Lots of Mosaic, melon, honey, nectar, and apricot in the extensive nose as the taste contained all of those, along with vanilla cream, tangerine, sherbet, and mildly dank hops, Blueberry juice and oats came through in this taste as this was quite full, balanced, and perfectly carbonated up until the last sip - which is something that I don't say about a lot of beers that I rate on here!

Plenty of booze here but with so much going on and so much slick sweetness in the mouthfeel, you'll hardly notice it. Balanced, juicy, sweet, and slightly dank, this was such a winner of a beer and full of everything that I love about what's coming out of these parts in recent years. With a slightly herbal aftertaste and tons of nuances to it, this ranked among Sand City's best and was an excellent showcase of Mosaic. Highly recommended!

This beer is better if you wait a little bit before drinking. I had a few of these less than a week after it’s release and by far it is better to let it sit for some time before drinking (about a month).

Tall can from the source....canned 11/7/18

Hazed up NEIPA pour, minor head and leaves some fine bubble sheeting

Ripe fruit on the nose with pineapple, melon, lime, and some vanilla.

Complex, tasty and super smooth brew, more pineapple, lime and tropical fruity goodness on the palate....mighty fine NEIPA..well worth seeking out

A 16 fl. oz. can with no canned on or best before date. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A lightly hazy golden orange colour with a big three finger white head that had great retention and left lots of nice lacing.

Aroma: Orange, grapefruit peel, biscuit, light caramel, pine, pineapple, mango and blueberries.

Taste: Moderate sweetness, biscuit, honey, papaya, pineapple, light bitterness, mandarin peel and rind, and grass.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: It’s nice, but perhaps too sweet a Double IPA for me to fully enjoy.

Slightly hazy golden color with off-white head. Aroma has herbal hop notes, orange rind and a light astringent fermented fruit note. Taste has oranges, tea notes, leafy hops, medium herbal bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium minus body and carbonation.

Pours a fairly clear orange, with soft, thick foam.

Smell is fruity, with notes of peach, apricot and lemon with a hint of sweetness.

Taste is just superb. Perfect balance between fruity, slightly juicy notes of peach, papaya and citrus and a perfect bitterness and hop bite.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft an pillowy. Well carbonated.

Overall, a terrific IPA, just superb.

L - 1/2 finger fleeting offwhite head atop a translucent orange body.

S - very tropical. Citrus in the background. Small amount of dankness.

T - super-pungent Mosaic. Very fruity and very sweet. Pineapple, mango, grapefruit. A little funk. Low bitterness, no booziness.

F - medium-light body and medium carb.

O - Very unusual. I dig it, but not what I was expecting. Wish the sweetness was dialed down a bit.

L - pours a startlingly clear amber orange! What happened to the swamp water NEIPA?! Big fluffy head that leaves behind craters of giant bubbles and inconsistent, sticky lacing.

S - dank pine needles and lemon orange candy. Some peach and mango, but it's faint.

T - toasted white bread smothered with mixed berry jam. Dank papaya and hints of pineapple make an appearance along with a sticky creamy sugariness. Lacks the butter that was so prominent in OG Mofo. Finish is neutral and heavy. There are hops in here, but the cloying Mosaic absolutely dominates any bitterness or semblance of a classic IPA.

F - oily and sweaty. It's a sipper for sure. It's not like motor oil, but the grainy sugariness simultaneously makes it hard to drink and hard to put down.

O - weirdly enough, I think this is less flavorful that regular Mofosaic. It's certainly slicker and feels more potent, but that mosaic pop just isn't there. What we do have is a low, rumbling mosaic storm of heavy sweetness and zesty, spiced breadiness. A real treat, that's for sure.

Appearance: With a nice bubble show, the head builds to two fingers above the hazy honey colored liquid; nice stickage and a patches of lacing

Smell: Juicy and dank, with a tropical fruit bouquet (pineapple, mango and tangerine)

Poured from a growler filled at the brewery.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a 2-finger soapy white head. The head sticks around for a while, leaving a few cobwebs of lace before settling into a bubbly halo.

The aroma is pure fruit salad. Lots of pineapple, with some berries, mangoes, and tangerines. Very subtle malt backbone. Even more subtle pine.

Oh boy. Oh. Boy. This flavor. I just died and went to mosaic heaven. This beer hits every note I've ever gotten from this hop, without being overly sweet or muddled. There's pineapple, mangoes, fresh berries, and some melon, followed by a wave of grapefruit and tangerines. There's some subtle cracker malt with a rindy, piney finish. Not the most balanced flavor in the world, but sweet lord is there a lot of it.

The feel is medium bodied with lighter carbonation. Fluffy, smooth, and creamy. Alcohol is nigh undetectable. Finish is a bit hot and bitter.

Overall, an incredible DIPA that perfectly showcases the mosaic hop. Mosaic is so-named for the wide and complex range of flavors it produces. I have never had a beer with this much flavor before. It's just a complete assault on the palate. I don't like the term "juicebomb" but this beer is the perfect definition.

Medium gold with a slight haze, tall foam head left lace sheeting down the glass... Aromas of fruits, berries, tropical, and the like, plus some pine, adding something slightly herbal to the nose... Flavors of the same - fruity with a bit of pine... Medium-light feel, smooth, soft, ample carbonation... A nice vehicle for the Mosaic hop...

16 oz. can in trade from DAN THE MAN. Poured into Belgian ale glass.

L: 2F head with decent retention, leaving lots of sticky lacing and a cap and ring. Beer is a semi-hazy light amber.

S: What is this? Is this a MOSAIC JUICEBOMB? Lots of pineapple, sweet citrus, mango, and passionfruit. Light malts.

T: Follows nose, which is fantastic. Pineapple and sweet citrus dominate, light malts, very little in the way of earthiness or dankness, just a solid juicebomb.

F: Light to medium body, light to medium carbonation. Excellent construction and balance.

O: Outstanding Mosaic IPA, one of the better ones around.

From a growler poured into a tulip glass...

A hazy gold/orange appearance, with a thick creamy head.

Has a great nose, bright, fresh tropical fruit and citrus.

Taste is great, it follows up on the smell exactly as you would expect it to. Tropical fruit, citrus, slightly piney. A little oily on the finish, but not too much of a detriment and slightly above medium mouth feel.

Overall this is a great beer and one of the best I have had from Sand City, visited and worked our way through the entire offering on a Friday afternoon. If they shift away from the mediocre Belgian styles and focused more on beers of this vain, they will do very well. Excited to see what the do next.
