Traded for this as I was unable to get to LIC in time for the release of this in January. Love the label but was unfamiliar with this beer before having it. Heard a lot about Sand City and once I finally got to take a sip of this, the end result was a northeast-style IPA best epitomized by Tree House, Trillium, or Finback. If Sand City is on their level when it comes to brews, this would be a fine end result as it had plenty of body, booze, and taste to sip and savor!
The pour to this was pale, gold, and dank, with enough head to match up to the liquid to go with plenty of thick, soapy rings of lacing to boot. Tons of dank melon and stone fruit rind in the nose to accompany the balanced, dry, and bitter mouthfeel that was this beer's hallmark. A chaser of water was needed to complement the pithy taste of this as melon and tropical notes that characterized this brew. Earthy and dank, this was a slow sipper that would easily please any hophead or 420 fan that needed an accompanying liquid to their pursuits. A bit of melon and honeydew juice kept this from feeling too heavy though the booze was certainly present from start to finish, as the low carbonation and hoppiness from the El Dorado, Equinox, and Galaxy kept the dank and 420 factors in play from the get-go.
This was strong but for this brew, the alcohol nicely complemented the range of flavors that were present here. /Earthy and pithy, the El Dorado was too strong here as I wish that there were more fruit and juice flavors present to balance out the hops. Worth a go once if you're into this but for the casual IPA lover, this should not be a first choice. Needed a bit more color in order to truly contain "The Whole Shebang".

Pale gold and hazy, white foam trailing lace from the top... citrusy and floral aromas followed by dank lemon pith on the first sip... develops deeper range of flavor impressions including something almost white wine-like, green fruit and maybe unripe melon, and a faint earthy musk keeping the brighter notes from being too forward... Medium-light, soft and mildly bitter; subdued sweetness and a nice lingering finish.

Undated 16 oz can, probably a bit past its prime. Poured into Belgian ale glass.
L: 2F head with good retention, nice sheets of lacing, cap and ring. Beer is a hazy gold/orange. Looks nice.
S: The citrus is orange, grapefruit, and lemon, the rest is dank and earthy, a bit herbal. Pretty good. I'm not a huge El Dorado fan, but so be it.
T: Follows nose. Citrus opens up a bit, followed by light malts and earthiness.
F: Light to medium bodied, light to medium carbonation. Construction and balance are pretty good.
O: This is a very good effort.

Look:Yellow, turbid, and hazy. Small head that recedes quickly.
Smell:Peach, orange, and sea salt.
Taste:Real easy drinker for an 8.5 percenter, peach, orange, and a dank after taste brings it all together.
Feel:Pillowy soft.
Overall:Impressive first brew I've had from LIC. It's not quite a heavy hitting New England style IPA, but so close.

Bright, hazy, straw color, white head, lacing with some "staying power." Smells quite citrusy, maybe lemon, slightly dark and earthy. Fruity sweetness with a solid bitterness, lemon astringency almost. I think I prefer the earthier, bitter beers over the citrus bitterness. It feels more balanced that way. Fluffy and fizzy, leaves a tingle on the tongue.
