The best selection in town. The draft situation its limited, but there is no bud. Great to see good beer in this town. I only stopped in for one beer, but I will co.me back. Barflys are still welcome to drink budmillercoors. The most domestic draft is labatt. The menu seems good, the wine is adequate. If you drive through ohio on state route 30 stop in at m.j. Mugsys in upper sandusky. You will not be disappointed. The two farthest taps roare rotating with ever available seasonal and short run beer available.

This place is, without question, my favorite spot to experience new beers and great food. Mike is the man. I've picked up quite a bit of knowledge from this fellow over the years. I did the 100 beers and had a great time doing it. The food is also top shelf in this neck of the woods. No one in the area holds a candle to the beer selection. Lots of crafts and plenty of imports. The closest thing I've seen to a domestic on tap is Labatt's. Sure, you can find a few domestics (BMC) on the wall of beer behind the bar, but they are few and far between. Mike does a great job of getting beers that are very scarce, even in the three or four big cities in the state. I don't get there much anymore, but two enthusiastic thumbs up!

I cannot say enough good things about MJ Mugsys. Mike is one of the most knowledgeable people I know when it comes to beer. Actually, he is quite knowledgeable in general. I just came from there and enjoy every experience I have had there. I live about 20 minutes away and am so thankful that there is an establishment with the beer selection and cuisine to match that close to me in a rural area. I have been going to Mugsys for about ten years and have never had a bad meal. All you have to do is tell Mike what style of beer you like and he points you in the right direction.

I absolutely love MJ Mugsys. If you are ever in the area please stop in and enjoy!

Since this is my home town, I feel like I have some kind of duty to write a review of Mugsys. To be honest, I'm kind of suprised its on here since Upper Sandusky is such a small town, but a great place like this deserves some recognition. The first thing to be said is that Mugsys is an oasis in a desert of macros. As a mostly rural area, it is nearly impossible to get a micro brew, let alone find a bar that has them, but M.J. Mugsys is the exception. I recently entered my name into the list of people attempting the 100 Beer Club, so this is easily one of my favorite dives when I'm home for a weekend or so. The food is good and reasonably priced and there are plenty of beers to choose from. The bartender is very knowledgeable, all you have to do is tell him a style or a certain taste that you're looking for and hes eager to point you in the right direction with a great beer. If you're ever travelling on State Route 30 or 23 through northwest Ohio, this place is definitely worth a stop.

This is an exceptional beer stop for this part of Ohio. The owner/operator knows and appreciates beer and cigars and is always searching for ways to improve.

Billed as an Italian restaurant and bar, I'd say it's more of a beer bar with some Italian food along with a host of American fare. It is obvious that they do good food trade as they have plenty of tables and an accomodating waiting area.

The beers range from good craft brews to a number very good imports. Samuel Smith and several Belgian beers play prominent roles and the owner clearly matches to local taste only as much as he needs to do, hoping instead to get some converts.

It's likely you'll never get to this spot on Earth so raise a toast to all the small pub owners worldwide who are fighting a lonely uphill battle to upgrade beer tastes in the populace they serve.

Mugsy's has over 100 beers, and if you want, keeps track of which you've drank. When you get over 100, you get a free T-shirt with Mugsy's 100 club. There are many different styles in those 100 beers, and so it is a great place for someone wanting to expand their beer tastes. Every time I have been to Mugsy's the bartender has been helpful, and there are always others there that are very willing and eager to discuss beer. If you want to try a style, but you aren't sure what to get, just ask, and they will tell you about some of them, and help you make the decision. Mugsy's is also a great restaraunt serving, burgers, chicken, veal, steak, seafood, and pastas. All of which taste great. I have to drive an hour to get to Mugsy's, but it is definitely worth the drive.
