I think this is one of those pubs that was built in Ireland and shipped over to be assembled here. I don't really have anything agains that, but most of these seem pretty cookie cutter (think the old Brian O'Neill's, or The Goose's Acre among others). An L shaped wood bar, big booths, TV's and soccer/rugby memorabilia all over the walls. The tiny brewing equipment can now be seen on the left side.
The bartenders and waitresses are all sweethearts and work hard. Surprisingly knowledgable on what is on tap as well. Selection is about 20 taps, with more than its fair share of Macros. Some Saint Arnold, Karbach, and every once in a while 512, or something like Deschutes.
I have not been in a while, and wanted to see what the lowdown was on their house beers. On my visit they where out, but only have Kinfolk Kolsch, and an Irish Stout. I guess that will do for the size of the operation they have.
Food is standard pub grub. I will come by every once in a while for fish an chips. Though nothing out of the ordinary.
I have been here on and off for a few years, and was not really expecting much with the new brewing operation. I did not get a chance to try either of the beers, but I am pretty confident that this will not satisfy my want to finally have a good brewpub inside the loop. As a decent place for fish and chips and a Saint Arnold about once a year, not a bad spot.
