Notes are from last night (5/28).
This brew pours out a clouded golden bronze. A moderate head forms, retaining pretty well, and some spotty lacing is left on the glass.
This one's got a very solid hefe aroma of clove and banana in a solid wheat backbone with a light lemon zest.
A soft flavor with all of the clove and banana flavors up front gives way to a balance of grains, lemon zest, green apple tartness and just a touch of hops for balance. The finish is soft and lingers shortly.
The mouthfeel is creamy smooth with a nice bite of crispness. Carbonation is moderate in a light-medium body. This one flows very nicely.
This is a nice hefe that isn't too tame and I'd like to try it again.

Pours a opaque straw color with about a half finger of head. The nose has a hint of wheat but the wheat really comes out in the flavor. This offering is hearty for the style.
This is an above average hefe.

Taste: It has flavors of wheat, clove, banana, spice, and a hint of lemon.
Feel: It has a light feel to it with low bitterness.
Overall this is a refreshing, easy drinking seasonal beer.

On tap at the brewery. Looks like a typical hazy, straw colored hefe, thin off white head. Smells like banana, clove, and yeast, also typical for the style. Same flavors of banana, clove, and yeast in the taste, yet again typical for the style. Noticing a trend? It's a serviceable hefe but nothing remarkable and overall a little weak; I would have liked to see the smell and flavor punched up a notch. Feel is just okay, moderate carbonation with a medium body.

On draft at Cantina Los Caballitos in South Philly. Very cloudy amber orange draft with small head. Aroma of ripe bananas and yeast. Taste is yeasty rich wheat with a small banana finish and very faint cloves, as I like it. Not surprisingly, Stoudts brews an authentic Bavarian Hefeweizen.
