Pours a light gold color with a very thin white head that fades quickly leaving little-to-no lacing.

Aromas begin with generic wheat maltiness and phenic yeast notes of bananas and some spice with a touch a touch of undistinguishable hops.

The tastes begin with a strong grainy and slightly tangy wheat maltiness that is quickly followed by yeast derived flavors of bananas and spices with some slight generic citrus hop flavor. The caramel maltiness emerges more and more as it warms. The hops presence is mild and there isn't quite as much balance as you would want in this kind of beer.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Finish is smooth and slightly sticky with some bready and slightly sweet flavors lingering into the aftertaste.

Overall this was a fine American interpretation of the style and there is nothing wrong with it but there are just a lot of others in the style that I would choose first. Forgettable but not bad.

Stoudt's- Heifer-in-Wheat (Hefeweizen)

A- Cloudy hazy yellow with a big billowy white head. Minimal lacing on the glass.
S- Strong fresh wheat, hay/ grass, and cloves.
T- Sweet honey touched wheat, cloves, a slight bubblegum flavor.
M- Starts of sweet with a big wheat flavor. Finishes off slightly spicy and dry. Smooth and easy.

Overall- A good sessionable hefe. Solid, middle of the road but enjoyable.

When this beer was poured, it has a hazy straw colored body with not head or lace. The smell has a little lemon flavor and some banana comes through. The taste is grainey and clove come through strong. The moouth feel is nice and crisp, overall i say this is a good beer.
