Was able to get a case of this on clearance (only $12.99!!!)
Wasn't sure what to expect, I knew it was a little out of date but the 7% ABV would make it last a little longer. Tastes like a strong Kolsch if I had to describe it... a dark yellow in color with a bite a hint of alcohol in the after finish but not much at all. Very interesting.. listed under the same style as Dead Guy from Rogue which I thought tasted better, but this is a much better deal and for the price it was exceptional.

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle. Bottle date 2/27/19 so almost a year old but with Maibocks, that’s not a concern. Pours a deep rich golden color, slight haziness. Thin head but stays with the beer. Honey and some banana on the nose. Very malty with a slight sweetness that is rounded out nicely by the hops. I read 37 ibu, which is high for the style but perfectly meshes with the malt. Absolutely adorable taste. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Honey shines mainly with some crisp apple as well. I don’t believe they are making this quality brew this year as American brewers seem to have totally abandoned this style which happens to be my personal favorite. I hope some will reconsider.

Appearance is brilliant, crystal clear gold; lots of bubbles from carbonation; frothy white head that settles to 1/2 finger; lacing all around
Smell is pungent earthy and floral hops with fresh bread
Taste follows the the nose with fresh bread and floral hops to start, with a little spicy hop bite. Finishes with mild bitterness
Feel is a bit prickly from from carbonation, but smooth and refreshing. On the lighter side of medium bodied
Overall this was outstanding. The malt and hops blended seamlessly, like eating a piece of fresh bread with a floral and earthy hop spread.

Dark amber body, off-white cap. Nose is so weak, toasty and grainy malt whiffs and that's it. Taste gives the drinker more to offer, caramel and lesser so toasty malts, a touch of honey and grains with hints fruity esters and a grassy hop finish. Nothing is super intense, but it is all there. Amazing how different the nose and taste are! Feel is springy yet malt driven, light and crushable. Indeed a great spring beer
