Bright yellow golden color with a thin aired head with decent retention given a strong apparent carbonation feeding it.
Faint aroma of cereals and heavy on sulfur.
Flavor of sweet corn, some diacetyl, sulfur, a distant herbal hops. Mild dry aftertaste.
Light to watery body with good carbonation.
This beer gets really bad once it warms a bit, it gets really unpleasant. Worst beer I had in Chile, though I have another couple of Adjunct Lagers to try. On tap tasted a bit worse than the canned version for some reason.

Piss yellow with zero head or lacing.

Nose: Wheat, rice, corn.

Taste: Salmon. Sriously, this was the only thing I could taste in this beer.

Notes: I'm sorry this is so short. I would never ever recommend this beer to anyone, not even my enemy. I was actually surprised by it's rating. I dont bash on beers, but this one was bad.

355ml can poured into my airplane plastic cup at 30000 feet 18/8/11

A lovely massive soapy uneven head that leaves plenty of partial rings of lace right to the bottom of the glass

S soggy cornflakes that sat on the counter overnight

T what I smell but with a skunky sour lemon flavor that's hard to swallow

M thin but with way too many bubbles and a nasty aftertaste that reminds me of leaves left to rot over winter

O pretty shitty beer overall, looks great but that's about it

I should've spent the extra cash on a bottle of water

Thanks to my BA Buddy Okey brought some beers back from a work trip to Chile.

A: Pours like any other lager golden in color but it does have a nice clarity to it.

S: Pale light malt and very little hop flavor.

T: Almost non existent as for flavoring but an almost bud light taste in the back.Very light citrus of lemon.

M: Light and crisp.Barely any carbonation.

D: Maybe would be good in the hot sun, would be refreshing. Not bad but not great.

Lot of haters on here, but it's at least way better than Bud, Miller, or Pabst.

Perhaps it's the fact that I climbed a mountain today, perhaps it's just not that bad. Either way, I've enjoyed it this evening.

The appearance is not great, the head fades into nothingness rather quickly.

The smell is ok, not a whole lot going on other than some very lightly roasted malts.

Taste is ok, like the smell, not a lot going on here.

Mouthfeel is quite smooth, very refreshing.

Overall, a beer that I would certainly pass up for another (like Kunstmann or Kross here in Chile), but when on a budget, Cristal can absolutely substitute adequately. (1200 CLP [2.17 USD]/1.2 liters? c'mon. It's too easy.)

A - clear, yellow, low retention good lace.

S - grainy malt, little else.

T - grainy corn flavor and a bit of herbal hops. Light bitterness and more corn in finish.

M - light body, average carbonation, and a dry finish.

D - light, drinkable, essentially flavorless; exactly what you expect.

Part of the "South of the Border" gift basket from Halftime in Poughkeepsie.
Appearance: Very Pale yellow with a quickly dissapearing white head. No lacing.
Smell: Very weak grainy smell.
Taste: Weak grain, thin. Some bitterness at the end
Mouthfeel: Thin. Need to swish it around to get any carbonation.
Drinkability: I can drink a dozen of these, and then have room for a real beer.

I tried the Cristal at the flabiano rossie in Santiago. It poured a clear golden with white head that left some lace. The scent and taste are similar to most beers of this style. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

Cristal is Chile's #1 beer. It took a bit of meandering, but I was able to determine that it and several other brews are manufactured and/or owned by Heineken. I was able to sample it in both 12 oz. and 40 oz.
It is a pale yellow, but poured a very nice head with good retention and lacing. Loads of carbonation feeds throughout the brew.
Aroma of cheap ingredients and a sulphury sweetness.
Same old same old here folks. The first time I had it was on a long hot day and it was ice cold; i.e. not very bad overall. Afterward, I had it when it had a chance to heat up a bit. The cheapness comes out pretty well. Disliked the fakish mouthfeel once it heated up and had a lingering Miller Light feel to it.

Only worthy so that you can go home and tell your friends that, like the ballers on "Cribs," you was swiggin Crystal all night. If near any Chilean beers, stick to Kuntsmann or Kross.

I give thanks to Mr Pacheco from work, who even though does not drink did abide my request for some Chilean beer, he lugged it up from Chile.

Cheers to Mr Pacheco

Alas the review

It pours out clear with some yellowish tint, think Coors, Bud, Miller for color. It has some lasting head retention and some lacing, carbonation through out the adventure. Aroma of some yeast, little malt, some spice. Seems to have some rice adjunct, and possibly some corn also. It has the typical aroma associated with both. Flavors are some what bland not really much to it some malt, slight hop when warm, some corn. Not much body, although highly carbonated, constant burping after couple drinks of it. Overall it is not that bad, being the #1 beer of Chile, taken in mind Bud is considered he #1 beer in the US. But we all know what a crock that is, but I would take Cristal over Bud anyday.

es una cerveza muy popular en Chile, si bien no es de gran calidad y sabor da mucho gusto tomarla porque es bastante regular, es una cerveza que mantiene sus características en todo lugar y momento por lo que da bastante seguridad tomarla.
