I took my 64 oz growler down to the Fair Winds Brewery and got a super fresh pour! It is a 7.2% ABV American IPA with 80 IBUs. It is brewed with finesse and is double dry hopped with Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra hops.

Look-It has an SRM of about 7 and a color of light-yellow honey with mild clarity and effervescent carbonation trails feeding a thin silky white head. The lacing is wet and drooping.

Smell-The aroma is pleasant with a caramel malt base and plentiful pine and citrus. A touch of floral hops adds to the aroma of honeysuckle and grain.

Taste-I taste pine hop resin, grapefruit, navel orange pith, a distant hint of mint, and then green tea leaves. The Mosaic hops add depth to the flavor with its rich complexity from the dry hopping. An earthy bitterness lingers through the sip and is accompanied by a note of honey and toasted grain malts. The mid-palette senses juicy citrus fruits from the Citra and Simcoe and dank hops throughout but tempered with a clean malt bill. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied yet not overly rich.

Overall-This is a delicious and well-balanced brew with a clean finish and a well-executed American IPA style. This is one of the few beers I would use the word ‘quaffable’ to describe. This one is a must-try but buy fresh and pour chilled into a Nonic glass or goblet. Cheers!

This is not a bad ipa. I like the strong hoppiness, but I am a little bent from the foam overflow as soon as I popped the top. The beer was refrigerated for a day and I never shook or tipped the can but it foamed over as soon as I popped the top. This brewer needs to work on the carbonation. Other than that, it was a good drink.

Random recommendation from the guy at the store, 3 weeks old. Looking at the reviews, I'd expect this to be just average, but it was really good. More of a classic IPA, but juicy like a newer style IPA. Leans orange/citrus and has a medium bitterness that gives it a nice finish. Above average in every way except probably just average mouthfeel.

A: A pale yellow color with a light white head.

S: Pine and citrus notes with a touch of caramel.

T: Hoppy with pine and citrus notes, and a long lingering earthy bitterness.

M: Medium with fairly aggressive carbonation.

O: Overall pretty tasty. A little much on the carbonation, and the bitterness is long and lingering with a bit of a rough note.. but all in all, a pretty decent brew.

From the bottom of the can: "HAPPY BDAY MOM 02/28/17 12:59:29"

Appearance: It has a mostly transparent golden body with a short white head that retains a small sliver of foam. Moderate lacing.

Aroma: It has great aroma. It is a very fresh aroma, similar to smelling fresh hops. There is a bit of pine and some tangerine along with what smells like aloe and oddly some brussel sprouts. There is a bit of a freshly cut grass aroma too.

Taste: It has great flavors. It's full of pine and mint with this woody backdrop of flavors. It has this tea flavor too. The flavors just pop out and taste really good.

Mouthfeel: It has great bitterness and it has a nice presence on the palate. The bitterness lingers on the palate but it is not overwhelming.

Overall: I really enjoyed this beer. The aromas and flavors were just fresh which is great for a beer that is two months old. I would pick it up again and based on this experience I will be looking for more beers from the brewery.

This beer was a happy surprise. Dark amber in color, with a thick, long-lasting off-white head, with an intense, citrus hop smell. The taste is brightly and boldly hoppy. Recommended.

Nice golden color with decent head and spotty lacing, aromas of grapefruit and other aasorted citrus and some sweet malt. Taste is crisp, definitely an IPA with a good amount of grapefruit, orange and pith. Finished crisp and clean !

On draught at Yard House in Springfield, VA. Clear Amber pour with a quarter finger of head that quickly dissipated to a thin film and left no lacing. Aroma is resinous hop oil and pine. Taste is a big punch of hop bitterness, pine, and citrus. Mouthfeel is thin, carbonated, with an alcoholic finish. Overall a good but not great IPA that will satisfy anyone looking for a big IBU tasting brew.

Draft at Yard House-Springfield. Medium golden pour with small creamy white head. Soft floral hoppy nose, taste adds sbit of spiciness. Sharp, soft bitter hop bite makes for a gentle introduction to the style. A bit more than an APA.

Tap, Reds Table Reston, VA. Previous reviewers aside, this has the snap of a great IPA. Amazing hoppy flower tones with high altitude lacing. Zesty and satisfying like that guy/girl you can not take your eyes/tongue off.

Pour: On tap at the brewery in Lorton Va. Poured into a nonic pint. Appearance: Pours gold and clear. Comes with a thick white head but reduces over time. Lacing present. Aroma: Not much on the nose. Slight hop and citrus aroma. Taste: Taste is way more robust that the nose. Juicy citrus and dank hops come throguh. Straight forward IPA and quaffable at 7.2%. Aftertaste: Finishes clean and juicy. Not much bite to this one. Overall: Easy drinker and enjoyable. Good: 3 out of 5

I was leery after reading the one and only review. What a fraud. This is a solid IPA. Definitely buy again. I can't tell you notes of this and that but can definitely tell you its a damn good IPA. My favorites are big doubles and this is a regular. This is very good and scary drinkable at 7.2

Revisit, as original review had some questions, on tap at brewery:

Pretty straight golden, perhaps leaning towards the darker side of the spectrum. Head is decent, but doesn’t produce much lasting lace.

Nose is slightly dank, with a citrus lean. Taste has a metallic edge to its relatively clean malt side. Pine, tangerine and grapefruit rind in moderate form check the west-coast IPA buttons. A little light on malt backbone and bitter hop notes, but the proportion is pretty close.

Increasing my score, as this is a solid IPA, well made as one would expect from the brewery.
