Toffee! That's what stands out and it's good , then roastiness. This is really delightful but not quite as great as their sours, but better than the iPa. Dessert! Candy! Just below a 4.25.

S: Coffee cocoa coconut and toasty aroma
T: Toasted grain, coffee, cocoa, cream and coconut with mild bitterness and balanced sweetness, with lingering creaminess and the coconut undertone
M: fairly light with lingering creamy feel
O:A very enjoyable comforting, warming Porter, one I’ll look for next time I’m on the Gulf Coast

12 oz can poured into pint glass

A: Light small bubbled creamy looking khaki head. Body is a rich brown in color with some light escaping the edges.

S: Light coconut, nutty, honey, chocolate, roasted grains

T: Nice dark bakers chocolate with hints of coconut, honey, roasted malts, light sweetness but not overwhelming finishes with nice toasted nuts.

M: Lighter but still creamy medium carbonation.

O: This is a winner light easy drinking with a nice robust flavor, but still finishes creamy. Not crazy coconut forward but its a nice background character.

Pours clear, deep brown in color with a twinge of red with 1/4 inch head. Taste is roasted malt, coconut, and baker's chocolate. Good, not overly sweet sipper. Could have several of these. Quality brew.

Pours a clear brown color. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of slight roasted malt, sweet malt, alcohol, slight coconut, dark citrus, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is also a slight astringency (Baltic Porter-esque). Tastes of sweet malt, slight roasted malt, slight hops, hint of coconut, alcohol, yeast, and slight dark citrus. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, blend, complexity, and feel. A surprisingly good Am. Porter (especially because I don't usually enjoy coconut).

Dark reddish brown appearance with off white cap.

Aroma of dark roasted malt with a slight whiff of coconut.

Rounded off taste of roasted malt with a touch of coconut and a ripe fruit, appley quality.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall it's a decent stab at a flavored Porter but other than the novelty of coconut I don't see why they bothered. The underlying brew is a decent one in the style and the added flavorings are more of a distraction than improvement. One expects coconut to be sweet or, in this context at least a sense of sweetness. Back to the drawing board for this one.

A well made porter with the roasty coffee and malty goodness you would expect but lacking in the coconut flavor i was hoping for.

Pours deep dark mahogany bordering on black with a coffee colored head.

Smells of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with some fig.

Taste is big coffee and chocolate up front both bitter and sweet. The heavy malt brings in dark fruit - fig - and then a dry finish. The coconut comes through more in the creamy mouth feel than in flavor. This is an excellent Porter.

L: very dark brown, little translucence, ok head retention

S: smoke, dark chocolate, and coconut. Nice.

T: what you'd expect based on the smell. Coconut comes through in the finish. Tastes good.

Mf: smooth.

O: good beer.
