Toffee! That's what stands out and it's good , then roastiness. This is really delightful but not quite as great as their sours, but better than the iPa. Dessert! Candy! Just below a 4.25.

I didn't get much coconut from this Porter but besides that little detail, it was a solid beer. Hit all the notes a porter should. Not too sweet with a good amount of bitterness. Take the "coconut" out of the name and it would be a solid beer.

Pours clear, deep brown in color with a twinge of red with 1/4 inch head. Taste is roasted malt, coconut, and baker's chocolate. Good, not overly sweet sipper. Could have several of these. Quality brew.

12 oz can poured into pint glass

A: Light small bubbled creamy looking khaki head. Body is a rich brown in color with some light escaping the edges.

S: Light coconut, nutty, honey, chocolate, roasted grains

T: Nice dark bakers chocolate with hints of coconut, honey, roasted malts, light sweetness but not overwhelming finishes with nice toasted nuts.

M: Lighter but still creamy medium carbonation.

O: This is a winner light easy drinking with a nice robust flavor, but still finishes creamy. Not crazy coconut forward but its a nice background character.

Poured from 12 oz can into snifter.

A: Medium brown with 2 finger dense tan head with lasting retention and leaving heavy lacing.

S: Roasted malts, caramel, and faint coconut.

T: Follows the nose pretty closely with the coconut becoming more prominent as it warmed.

M: Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Very easy drinking.

O: Nice coconut porter. Not quite on the level of Death by Coconut but very enjoyable regardless.

Curlew's Toasted Coconut Porter has a very thick, foamy, beige head, a dark brown appearance, and some splotchy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of brown bread crust, faint chocolate and coffee, and a ghost of coconut, perhaps. Taste is of those elements, with a strong bitter brown bread character. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Curlew's Toasted Coconut Porter finishes semi-dry and quaffable.

this was my 1st porter and it was recommended to me by the waitress behind the counter at the brick house brew house in meridian Mississippi. The smell was warm and soft and smelled of a light morning coffee. The taste was smooth and had no bitterness,my 1st thought was this would go really well w/brisket or baby back ribs that had no bbq sauce on them yet. definitely going back and getting some more...I have the idea of using it as a marinade for a steak.

Pours deep dark mahogany bordering on black with a coffee colored head.

Smells of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with some fig.

Taste is big coffee and chocolate up front both bitter and sweet. The heavy malt brings in dark fruit - fig - and then a dry finish. The coconut comes through more in the creamy mouth feel than in flavor. This is an excellent Porter.

Pours a clear brown color. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of slight roasted malt, sweet malt, alcohol, slight coconut, dark citrus, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is also a slight astringency (Baltic Porter-esque). Tastes of sweet malt, slight roasted malt, slight hops, hint of coconut, alcohol, yeast, and slight dark citrus. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, blend, complexity, and feel. A surprisingly good Am. Porter (especially because I don't usually enjoy coconut).
