Of course it is tempting to say this brew is aptly named, but I think its just cleverly named.

Its a blonde ale, so it needstobe judged by the fairly low standards of that style. This one has been sitting around my place being the butt of jokes for a couple months. Time to drink it and I'm enjoying it.

It has the typical blonde color with never ending fizz. It has a very mild yeasty aroma. Very nice.

The taste is a bit sweet and thin and the aftertaste isn't much either, but overall this was better than horse piss.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Cloudy gold in color, witha short head of white foam.
Aroma-Faint pale malt
Taste-Immediately not good. Carbonated wet cardboard. Flavors are off. I check for a freshness date, but none to be found. I doubt if a brewery-fresh bottle would be any better. A beer that truly lives up to its name. Even mediocre craft beer would taste heavenly if consumed right after a taste of this awful brew. Avoid. Even as a joke.

Served in a shaker pint glass.

Alright, so my buddies and I took our usual trip over to Village Bottle Shoppe. After some minor perusing of the liquor, I headed for the cooler door that showcases individual bottles of various beers. My eyes alit on a braying horse face, complete with the words "Horse Piss" beneath it. There was no point in resisting.

This stuff pours a clear straw topped by a finger of relatively short-lived lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises very mild bread and light touches of grass and sweet flowers every now and again. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a more-than-healthy amount of hard water thrown in for the sake of it. The body is fairly light, with a light moderate carbonation and a watery feel. Overall, though not out-and-out bad, per se, this beer does sort of live up to what its name implies. It's light, it's unimpressive, and it's an occurrence that's more common than we'd collectively like.

This is called Horse Piss for a reason because it looks like a cup of urine. Virtually no head and cloudy in appearance this not pretty.

The scent is of tomatoes. Yes tomatoes. I passed it around and everyone got the same scent.

Drain pour enough said!

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into pint glass.

A: Gold in color, clear, with an off-white foamy head. Good amount of visible carbonation.

S: Yeast, lots of malt, bit of fruitiness.

T: Follows the nose, except there is no fruit detectable & not much sweetness at all. There is an off, metallic aspect to this, but it doesn't overwhelm.

M: Thin mouthfeel, but not overly so for the style. Not much alcohol presence if any.

O: Not great, but not awful by any means. This seems like a beer designed at transitioning someone off BMC to a craft beer. I wouldn't buy it, but wouldn't refuse one if I was thirsty.

golden yellow with a thin off white head. Decent lace left behind from a sparkling clear liguid. A nice bit of carbonation bubbling up from the bottom. Smell was light, with the biggest hints coming from grain, and a nice bread tone. Slightly sour tones present as well, maybe some sour grape or apple. First impression was crisp and somewhat bitter. Nice play on the palate and a decent hopper aftertaste. Biggest flavors were by far malts and grains, with a musty bread flavor being the biggest factor here.

A - Bright nearly flourescent yellow, carbonation bubbles raging, gigantic white foam head. Odd gray sediment making its way to the bottom of the otherwise innocent glass.

S - Right fresh malty smell. Reminiscent of the smell at a macro brewery.

T - Sour, sulfur, metallic, fresh green peas and grassy. That's just from the first swallow. Second taste yields a ton of metallic taste with added sulfur fun.

M - Greasy with not too much aftertaste. Thankfully.

O - The name says it all. One of the few drain pours I've had in quite a while.

Horse Piss Beer

Served in DFH globe glass.

A: Pours clear pale gold with giant fluffy head that subsides relatively quickly and leaves modest lacing. Good effervescence. Some sediment ends up on bottom of glass.

S: Smells like a roughly-hewn Saison: white pepper, course grains that border on hay, and some lemon zest.

T: Toasted malts, course grains, and a touch of sweetness and lemon zest are main players.  A metallic note, like steel, consistently intrudes on taste. Moderate bitterness. Lightly toasty, grainy finish.

M: Medium body and carbonation. Mouthfeel feels average, if a bit thin, for style.

O: Horse Piss Beer tastes better than its gimmicky name leads you to believe. That's not saying much though. Decent drinkability,  despite metallic taste.

I liked this beer as a whole it was very refreshing. It has a light bronze but almost brass color. The aroma is sour and sweet that reminds me of fresh citrus. It has a grassy and fruity flavor that I found refreshing. The body is watery and has some bite. A good summer day beer.

Pours a clear, gold color. One inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of citrus hops, sweet malt, slight pale malt, and slight grain. Fits the style of an American Blonde Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of grain, slight citrus hops, sweet malt, and slight pale malt. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma and blend.

A:golden in color with big(that gets small quick) white foamy head at first that leaves slight laceing.

S: Smells like wheaty sweet corn bread.

T: Slight grassy corn smell devoid of much anything other than that somethin weird at the end cant put my finger on.

M:Smooth with good carbonation a little watery.

O: Not a bad beer but that dont make it good would drink agian but prolly would never buy a case.

This beer pours out as a lightly hazy yellowish orange. The head was pretty large at first, had to wait in order to fill the glass. Lots of bubbles rising from the bottom keeping a good head on top of the beer. The smell is of a slight funk and a lot of grains. The flavor is full of oats and grains. It reminds me of some cereals. The mouthfeel is drinkable and almost medium bodied. Not a terrible brew but nothing Excellent either.

A: Medium orange brown with some pretty big floaties, head is off white, and it mostly large bubbles that fade pretty fast.

S: Light taking a smell tour through adjunct city. Sweet with notes of corn, rice, and biscuit. Slightly earthy.

T: Sweet, with cooked vegetables. A hint of earthy hops, and a bit of funk in the finish.

M: To thick for the style and not carbonated enough for the style. Perhaps the two go hand and hand.

O: I have sent this as a gag extra in a lot of trades, but never actually tried it myself. This style isn't my favorite, and this beer is a poor representation of the style. It's a novelty, and not something I will ever drink again. However, it is still a great gag gift, which is my guess as to why it sells at all. Sub-Par in every way imaginable.

Poured from a bottle into a mug.

Appearance: Has a yellowish/golden color. It poured a small head that disappeared quickly. Seems to have an average to high amount of carbonation.

Smell: It has a very faint smell that his hard to pick up. What I do smell is kind of sweet.

Taste: It has a sweet cereal taste and is watered down. It has a light/medium carbonation and tastes pretty good.

Mouthfeel: It has a crisp feel that goes down pretty smooth. It has a light/medium and sits well. It is thin and watery.

Drinkability: Easy beer to drink. Doesn't have a ton of flavor and not very complex but would be a good beer to drink on a hot day. I'm glad I tried it and would probably drink again if the occasion arises.

Pours a light copper/golden color and is slightly cloudy. Aroma of sweet, fruity malt. It is definitely malt forward. It is fairly light, perhaps a bit undercarbonated, and tastes as it smells, sweet and fruity maltiness. Not bad but not great. I would not have classified this as an american adjunct lager, it is much more malty and if it is a lager it is a very malty amber lager.

A: Mild amber color with absolutely no head and apparently not much carbonation either. Wait....I thought I saw a bubble....oh darn...I guess not.

S: I smell absolutely nothing. Well, maybe a scosh of malt and filtered water.

T: Totally devoid of hops, fruitiness, or maltiness. It has the aftertaste of a very watered-down scotch ale.

M: Watery unpleasantness.

D: Almost a drain pour.

My brother in law got me this one as a joke.

A: Pours a pale piss yellow (how fitting) with a foamy white head. Sort of reminds me of a urinal after a night of drinking. Pretty good retention with some spots of lace.

S: Aromas of a corn silo with holes in the roof. Musty, corny, with fresh cut grassy notes... meh!

T: Corn sweetness for sure. Grassy hops, straw, and light yeasty bread.

M: Light, watery, and forgettable.

D: Not really, my brother in law bought it as a gag gift and I would say that is all it is good for.

12oz bottle purchased as a single in Fort Wayne. Seems to be an obvious gimmick with the name and picture, but I love the label and have informally been looking for this for about a year.

The beer is light orange with a chill haze and a thin head. The aroma is mainly toasted grains, about right for an adjunct lager. The taste is not so bad, toasted malts with almost no hops perceptible, not too far off from Budweiser perhaps. Medium body, goes down like water.

This is a reasonable alternative to macro lagers in the US, but at a higher price point. The label is worth it at least once, as I wanted this in my bottle collection.

I poured into a pint glass to a half inch of quickly disappearing white head. It is a slightly hazy gold color. I get a metallic smell. Not good. I take a drink. Not good. It is just not good. I'm glad I only have a couple of them. It is more of a novelty than a beer. It is a good beer to pawn off on your drunken buddies.

Poured a very slightly hazy light gold color. Head was about half a finger thick and vanished almost immediately. Smell reminded me of a macro lager. Taste was also macro...only worse! I got an aftertaste that reminded me of licking an iron pipe, certainly some metallic tastes here. It just wasn't good. Nice thing was that the aftertaste did not linger whatsoever.

Pours a hazy light gold color with a small head and low carbonation.

Scent of sweet corn and grains. Unoffensive and somewhat weak, but I wasn't expecting much to begin with.

Taste of sweet corn and grain. I would take this over a macro if it weren't for the price.

Mouthfeel is light bodied with low carbonation.

received as a gift from relatives in Louisville. pours a cloudy yellow/orange. awfully cloudy for a lager. settles to no head. aroma is cereal grains mixed in with a little of that morning after frat party, beer-soaked floor smell. sour/acidic taste is pretty rough around the edges. nearly impossible to take sips without wincing. lots of carbonation gives it decent mouthfeel. only my pride keeps this from being a drainpour. not sure what went wrong from the normally solid Bluegrass Brewing. this is is definitely among the 3 worst beers i've ever had... what a perfect choice for my first ever review.

Appearance: Pours a clear, faintly yellow body with not much in the way of a head beyond the horse mug on the bottle label.

Smell: Sweetish cereal aroma with vague, indistinct notes of malt and dull, limpid hops.

Taste: Faint malt character with a light cereal sweetness. A few drops of lemon juice. Light hop flavor and bitterness, but it's got a somewhat stale quality to it, too. Drying, though wholly empty finish -- it doesn't finish so much as it vanishes like a disappearing wizard.

Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.

Drinkability: As I'm sure others have mentioned, it just seems like a gag beer, like something you'd purchase at Spencer's Gifts right along with a t-shirt riddled with fart jokes and a plastic stein with the word "HO" emblazoned on the side.

Pours a slight hazy golden color. No head or lacing.

Aroma is non-descriptive from a smoker.

Slight corny graininess. Small hop bite. Overall fairly pleasant to taste.

Mouthfeel is light , carbonation is good.

Overall a pretty gimmicky beer , but easy drinking nonetheless .

Pours a cloudy dull straw/hay color with a small mostly white quickly dissipating head. Smells of adjuncts and fermented corn flakes that would be better served to Mr. Ed. First sip is bland cereal and just a tad of hop bitterness. Not much positive aspects in this one.
