Notes / Commercial Description:
Each Halloween we release this special concoction to celebrate one of our favorite holidays. Deep blood-red in color, an intense aroma of pine and citrus from an abundance of American hops balances the sweetness and rich, bready flavors of this beer's caramel malts. The result is a fiendishly smooth brew that will make your taste buds scream with delight.

This beer pairs excellently with toffee, caramel apples, or your favorite horror flick.

22oz for $4.50

A: Deep brownish amber with almost purple qualities to it. Aggressive cream colored head. Really like the color on this one its almost pretty!

S: Sweet malts abound, orange peel, raspberries, piney hops, and malt biscuit

T: Sweet malt hits the tongue followed by fig, grapefruit, orange, pine hops, slight blackberry, and citrus pine! Super tasty brew!

M: Medium body, slight cloying that is just barely there, hops dance spicy on teh tongue then dries out smooth!

O: Another great brew from Alesmith! Hoppier then most ambers but you won't see me complaining. Really starting to enjoy this hoppy sub genre of ambers recently and i think this is the best yet. That being said it's not one of Alesmtih's best but that still puts it head and shoulders above most other beers. It really good just not all the way there like My bloody valentine or their IPA. Still a great brew that you should try!

Poured from the bottle into a stemless wine glass.

Deep red amber, dark brown on the outside, with a big ruby darkness to it. Head is creamy tan, with three fingers and settling down to a half finger head.

Good simple caramel aroma. Mild toast with a solid thick sweetness. Mild hop action, but pretty indistinct and not particularly obvious. Definitely amber solid.

Palate comes pretty straight forward and good for an amber. Caramel sweetness with a nice thick coating. Mild hints of pine astringency on the finish to match. Good coating with a bit of resin quality. Not really so much citrus on the nose that the bottle hints at.

It's a solid straightforward amber, but lacks much of the West coast hop character that Alesmith is definitely know for. Not an old beer either, but a solid amber.

Pours sparkling clear dark ruby. A bone, dense head of an inch-plus sank slowly, revealing goops of shredded lacework and a thick, rocky surface coating.

Aromatics lead off with fresh piney hops, tangerine, mangoe, and sugared grapefruit.
Lush and tropical with a kiss of malt.

Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Sticky and tacky.

Ripe fruit, smashed spruce boughs, grapefruit pith, and sweet malt start the palate. An almost drying yet quite firm bitterness follows through, along with a hint of embers and earthy bark.

Finishes with lingering biterness, fresh carmelized malt, and sap-drizzeled fruit.

Very tasty and uber-fresh. The roasted malts add some depth without adding too much sweetness, and theres a good dose of hops to boot.

Big ups to WeeheavySD for the freshie!

Bottled 9/5/13.

Pours a hazy orange-red with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, pine, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice mixture of citrus and pine hop qualities that make this one smell and taste quite nice.

Poured from 22oz into Standard Pint glass. No date.

L: Slight hop haze to a dark mahogany color, two fingers of light beige head. Great retention.

S: Aroma is nice and hoppy, citrusy and piney. Bready malts are the backbone here.

T: Hoppy for a Red, good malty breadiness though, citrusy and piney.

F: Medium body, below average carbonation and a clean hoppy finish.

O: A pretty tasty beer but I was expecting a bit more from AleSmith whom I hold in high regard.

22 oz bottle. Pours deep ruby red amber with a big fluffy light tan head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet nutty caramel malts with fruity piney hops.

The flavor is sweet nutty caramel malt with a lot of fruit and a piney resiny hop finish with a little alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a nice hoppy red.

Tap @ Hamilton's. Pours clear auburn with a skimpy white head. Caramel, grapefruit, and pine dominate the nose. Full, tangy grapefruit and resin hop flavor tempered nicely by the malt. The caramel thankfully does not overwhelm. Velvet mouthfeel. I just can't get enough of the hops in this one. Its so good.
