From a large shared bottle at RBWG-2015.
Rich imperial stout-like strong dark ale. Lightly sweet. Toffee
Feel: Full body with appropriate light carbonation.

Rich brown, tan foam. Brooding hops, chocolate chunk and dough. Velvety and big brown. There needs to be more

Thanks to NJB145 for this bottle, a marriage of two breweries that could only be good, right? 22 oz. bottle with a cowpoke in profile, split with my wife.
Poured expertly by my twelve year old, the brew is a dark brown with creeping red highlights around the edges. The nose is an all-access invite edged in chocolate, light roast, sweet malts, earthiness. Really nice.
Ramblin’ Rye is a brown that tested out of its mediocre class. So many browns seem like a second thought to breweries, a throwaway style, this one is crafted like a hand-made bar of soap. Lovely sweet malts & the rye open; the rye is both spicy & earthy, which is hard to pull off. Mid-palate boasts some nice roast & mild bitterness, then that nice chocolate rolls in smoother than a new St. Croix blank with a Shimano reel. So easy drinking, it’s hard to believe it’s north of 8% ABV.
This is a very good brown. I’d drink this any time.
