Very Good
Notes: This refreshing, light-golden Extra Pale Ale embodies drinkability. AleSmith X pushes the limits by offering a level of flavor not often found in this classic style. Fresh American hops are abundant but carefully balanced by a light, crisp body and smooth bitterness. Notes of citrus and pine combine with a delicate malt sweetness to create a flavorful drinking experience.

Presentation: 22oz brown bomber, white silk screened label with no freshness date.

Appearance: Effervescent carbonation with a light haze from both the chill and some from the yeast, fluffy white head holds strong on top of the pale golden orange colour.

Smell: Citrusy of a tart orange and bit of rind, light bready and yeasty aromas … clean to the nose.

Taste: Big crispness, smoothness lays in strong also after the medium high carbonation. Medium body with a mounting dryness. Quick flash of grainy pale malt before the hops set in, bitterness is lightly sharp with a rounded pungent citric flavour. Clean in the mouth with waves of citric flavours from the hops and a straight lines pale graininess that is, again, clean. Down deep is a hop flavour that borders on the earthy with herbal undertones. The back end is crisp and dry though not bone dry, hops lay in with a long lasting herbal flavour with citric flavours.

Notes: Poster boy for the American Pale Ale style, rich without being too complex and drinkable to the point of being a beer to have in the fridge year round. The hop fix is there for the hopheads but not too hoppy to the point excessive.

Appearance: What a head on this sucka! Unbelievable. Leaves some massive clinging rings around the glass.

Nose: Big fruity hops in the aroma. Almost at IPA level. Yeasty. Maybe even some spice.

Taste: Strong juicy bitterness. Crisp and clean. Reminds me of a good pilsner with some extra fruit and American hops. Finishes dry. A hidden malt backbone that only comes through in the end. Very light bodied overall.

If not for just a little more complexity in the taste, this beer would be kick-ass!
get some MF!!

Bomber purchased at Peekskill, NY Bev, comes w/o freshness info.

Pour is hazed dull tangarine. Off white head, tiny bubble head and fine strands of lacing.

Moderate citrus nose, leads to a well hopped and highly enjoyable IPA. Some cookie and more citrus, with grapefruit leading the way.

Nicely done in an understated (for San Diego) kinda way. Quality IPA. Well worth a try

Pours a hazy golden color, minimal white head, and some carbonation.

Has a citrus hops smell with some pine and resin.

Light/mod sweet/acidic/bitter citrus hops with some caramel malt in the background.

Light/med body, slightly syrupy texture, lively/soft carb, and a slight alkaline type of finish.

Very good and hoppy session beer with no lingering aftertaste.

A: Cloudy, somewhere between amber and yellow, head isn't too deep (1 finger on a pint glass), but thick. Lacing lasted all the way through the glass:

S: Hops, flowery. There is a lot going on here

T & M: A very hoppy west coast IPA. Great flavor, you definitely know you are drinking a beer. Maybe a touch of sweetness.

Drinkability: BA says 5% ABV, Alesmith says 5.5% ABV, which means that it's not too strong. I could see this as a great session beer, as long as you have good food to go with it.

Pours a hazy, golden copper body, with a fluffy white head. Wonderful aroma of peach, pears, citrus - quite clean. Taste is tremendously well balanced, so sweet, fruity, malty with a bold hoppy bitterness that lingers on your tongue. Medium bodied and insane amount of drinkability. A session ale all the way. Wonderful.

Poured into an oversized pint glass.

Pours a golden yellow, hazy and tons of bubbles form a near white head. Chunky head here, lots of bubbles rising. Massive lace and tremendous head retention. Huge chunk island floats and moves with each sip. Looks as good as a any pale ale I have seen.

Brew smells of citrus and sweet malts with a bit of pine. Great nose.

Brew is delicious; crisp solid citrusy hops with some pine. Nice sweet malts to balance things out. Brew finishes slightly bitter. As the back of the bottle states - great stuff here. A big refreshing pale ale here that is a sessionable beast.

Wow - awesome sessionable pale ale here. Perfect in every aspect to me for a pale ale. Looks awesome tastes great and has a great mouthfeel. For a lower abv brew this is as interesting as things get. Stellar stuff....

Pours a clear light golden brew.

Smell is sweet and mild grain with a mild perfuming of hops to the scent.

Taste is a little sweet and grains with a mild fruit and hops flavor. A mild mannered brew that can almost pass for a very good lager.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Super drinkable brew. One of the few brews that can balance real flavor with mildness.

Sampled from a 22 oz bottle which was very generously provided by drewbage1847. Pours a pretty clear gold with a solid white head that stuck around for the duration. Mild, but pleasant citrus aroma of sweet orange, lemon, & piney hops. Very consistent flavor profile of sweet malts & moderate bitterness. Hop flavor is a blend of piney, peppery earth with grapefruit citrus. Medium to light bodied, very crisp & clean, this brew finishes dry. Easy drinking, well-crafted, accessible pale ale.

A: Poured a golden yellow into the glass with a big fluffy white head that stuck around the entire drink. Laced the glass respectably.

S: Very clean with lemon and citrus nicely complemented by medium yeast notes. Becomes more floral as the drink continues.

T: Starts off with strong pale malt and then eases into the citrus including lemon and white grapefruit. As the beer opens up wonderful herbal notes accent everything. These slowly settle and solid bread and a smack of yeast hit the palate. The finish is quite dry and almost powdery.

M: Just what i wanted: crisp, clean solidly light-medium with plenty of carbonation but no fizz.

O: Very good beer. Excellent combination of all the thing one desires in a Pale Ale. Hard to determine how it could be improved without upsetting the balance.
