Probably the best non-barrel aged coffee stout I've had. Blows Vietnamese SS out of the water.

Heavy heavy dark roast Kopi on the nose and exactly the same with the taste. Awesome all the way around.

No oatmeal. Overpowered by coffee flavor. Not bad but not their best variant of speedway

Pours a very dark brown, almost black. Smells of sticky fruits, treacle and dark chocolate. Tastes bitter, syrupy, VERY sweet, dense, raisin, sticky fruits, little to no carbonation, coffee-bitterness. Intense and flavourful beer.

4 ounce pour in a snifter at the brewery.

Highly bitter in flavor and feel. Earthy and bitterness leads to dark chocolate, oatmeal, vanilla and dark fruit. Coffee lightly lingers on the finish and competes with carbonation, floral and dry qualities, and a yeast presence.

Creaminess is pretty nice and reaches cask/nitro level. That's a major plus.

The bitterness is a tad overdone and distracts from the creaminess and other great flavors. 4 overall.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Black with a medium khaki head. Thin collar.

Smell - Very roasty. Coffee. A little metallic. Dark chocolate.

Taste - Almost burnt. Dark chocolate. Very roasty. Coffee. Bitter and burnt malts. Harsh finish.

Mouthfeel - Heavy body. Medium carbonation.

Overall - How do you take two great beers like this and make it not as good as either?
