We've finally teamed up with our friends at Pizza Port Brewing Co., one of our favorite breweries in San Diego. When deciding what to make, we figured something excessively hoppy was the logical choice, and so this collaboration brew was born. This triple IPA is an intensely hoppy and bitter San Diego-style IPA. The light malt character and light body allow aggressive notes of pine, mango and citrus fruits to overtake the palate, while a dry finish allows it to remain crisp and refreshing. Make the Logical Choice and enjoy this beer immediately, much like the brewers did leaving work to enjoy it in sunny San Diego. Cheers!

Had on tap. Clear gold bubbly body with two fingers of white foam. Pine, mango, orange, grapefruit, caramel malt, floral hop aromas. Taste is a more resinous version of the nose while staying bright, light, and even a little pithy in the finish. Feel is bright, light, wet than dry through the sip, clean for a triple ipa, and has decent hop character. Solid all around, would recommend for early summer

Not that I want to get sidetracked here, but a beer like this makes me realize why Pliny the Younger is so good. Anyway...

Looks pretty standard like my prom date in a lacy thang with pumps - not bad. Aroma is fairly West Coast, but with strong honey like the Cheerio Bee after taking a bong rip. Taste is pretty standard, but then it hits you with a pretty good burn like OJ speeding away in da Bronco.

Meh.

Poured from 16oz tall can into a tulip. No canning date printed on the can.

Appearance: rich golden hue with a crystal-clear body and a thick finger of frothy tan foam atop. This is a really good looking beer.

Smell: sweetish malt aroma with some dank and piney hop notes. It smells smooth and nicely-composed, though it's not especially intense.

Taste: rich and thickly malty and sweet; hops are resinous, piney, earthy, and dank. It's got a bit of an autumnal character going on. Again, it's good, but perhaps a bit on the earthy side for me.

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good level of carbonation and actually a good level of creaminess for the style.

Overall: this is pretty easy drinking for 10%; bitterness is relatively low compared to the sweetness (though it's still plenty bitter), so it's quite drinkable.

Single can from Trader Joe’s in San Diego.
Pours a clear orange to copper colour with short lived creamy near white head.
Aroma of caramel malt, citrus, strongly hoppy, pine.
Taste starts with burst of sweet caramel malt but covered quickly by pine, resinous hops, grapefruit, milder notes of orange and hint of mango - crisp sharp hop bitterness balances the malt sweetness.
Full mouthfeel - clean crisp lingering bitterness, a bit of warmth but not excessively boozy - deliciously drinkable but definitely a west coast triple IPA.

Solid 4

This beer is super well balanced and hides its 10% ABV incredibly well. It would be easy to crush an entire four pack and not realize you're buzzed until you try to stand up. Crisp, refreshing and a solid offering from two SD juggernauts (as you'd expect).
