Orange X is a fresh new take on our classic Extra Pale Ale. We combined the crisp, light balance and generous hop profile of X - Extra Pale Ale with the bright juicy citrus character of oranges as a tasting room exclusive here in San Diego. The positive response was so overwhelming that we decided to trust in our fans by putting it into cans. Orange X is for the people!

12 oz. Draft pour into a goblet.
I would say this one blurs the lines between American Pale Ale and Fruit Beer except that it smells and tastes more like fruit slice candy than real oranges. It also smells and tastes of light honey with minimal bitterness.
This one definitely leans more towards malty and sweet, though it is a light sweetness that is rather refreshing and easy to drink.
Overall it isn't bad and I did enjoy it but it seems to me a bit of a novelty.

Copper to gold in color with a hazy complexion from the orange zest. There’s a fingernail of off whit to beige on top. The aroma smells like orange soda. I’m tasting orange soda with some tangerine bitterness at the back of the palate. The mouth is light, crisp, and refreshing on a hot day.

Oh man. Disappointing. My first bust from this amazing brewery. Looks fairly thin, orange-yellow in color with just a little head and very spotty lingering lacing. Smells mainly of bitter orange peel and a little fruity and floral hops. The bitterness overwhelms the weak malt backbone - as a whole the aroma and flavor reminds me of a cross between a Campari Soda and a blood orange San Pelligrino. Thin mouthfeel, great carbonation. An OK beer but I expected so much more from AleSmith.

12 oz. Can
Canned On: 03/15/18
Just showed up today. UnFuckn'beliveable.
Poured into a tulip a pretty nice cloudy yellow/orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which also leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine). The taste is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine). Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely, with a little dry/bitter finish. Overall, still tasty, but would have been much better 4-5 months ago. I will put blame on the liquor store. They are notorious for this shit.

It pours hazy light orange color with huge long lasting off-white head. Some nice lacing. Aroma is fairly fruity; orange, mandarin and pine. Slightly toasted sweet malts are in background. Taste is very good example for an APA; softly balanced, but slightly hoppy bitterness comes in end. It tastes like orange juice with soft bitterness and slight alc. Very dry finish is remarkable. No astringency or harshness on palate; it's very easy to drink. Low bodied and effervescent. Refreshing. Very good example for its style.

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop on 1-15-18 for $1.99. Canned on 8-4-17; refrigerated likely since it hit the Hop Stop.
Beer poured golden with a tinge of orange, nice white head that has some good hang time.
Nose is very orange forward but it almost comes across as an artificial adjunct.
Taste is orange forward with a light peel bitterness. It is right on the edge of being too bitter but does not cross that line.
Mouthfeel is crisp and very refreshing.
Overall this is a nice summer beer but for my palate it is a one and done.
