Finally made it to Coin Haus, walking there to sample a few brews and play some arcade games. The arcade games ended up being free (would have been to 6 p.m.) for the whole time I was there. This was one of those places where you pour your own beer and pay by the ounce. Figured I would break my rule of only reviewing six ounces for today only (and any other time I go to Coin Haus). Thought this one was intriguing and that was before I saw that is was “aged in 1792 Ridgemont Reserve barrels exclusively for Cohn Restaurant Group.” Had no clue what 1792 Ridgemont Reserve barrels was going into it.

Poured a black color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki tan head. Very light bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. World-class swirly retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Wow. Interesting on the nose. Chocolate, toffee, caramel, butterscotch, rye, earthy oak, espresso, light mocha, maple syrup and brown sugar. Incredibly sweet. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste followed the nose, maybe more boozy. Espresso, caramel, toffee, maple syrup, brown sugar, light mocha, butterscotch, earthy oak, dry tobacco and chocolate syrup. (Taste - 4.25)

Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, warming finish. (Feel - 4.50)

Really liked this one. Excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
