Received in a trade and shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark black hue with a nice mocha head that fades to leave light lacing and a creamy blanket and nice legs.

S - Aromas of nice coffee, albeit relatively faint. The bourbon is subtle as well. Super mediocre! Utterly shocking.

T - Taste is similar to the nose nice chocolate with some bitter coffee. The bourbon is nice and juicy, chocolate is faint. The coffee is incredibly non-existent, which is shocking.

O - Overall this was a rather disappointing Speedway variant. Really really lackluster coffee notes. Don't understand how this is so so underwhelming of a beer.

Thanks to rudzud, 2018

Huge pillowy frothy creamy head fades very slowly, thick head sticks around with loads of lacing, nice legs, pitch black beer

Nose loads of dark chocolate, some roasted coffee and a bit of char, mild nougat and caramel, flashes of bourbon barrel, fudge and a bit of char, cocoa, etc, mild vanilla barrel, otherwise not much else

Taste is about the same, loads of dark chocolate cocoa, mild roast and cocoa, fudgey notes, a touch of alcohol, caramel and sweet malt notes, a little roasty char into hot alcohol, a faint barrel barely, candy like if that, finishes with some alcohol and fudge notes

Mouth is med to heavier bod, decent carb with plenty of warming alcohol

Overall OK at best, but not nearly as good as the other versions, a bit disappointed actually

Stoked to have the chance to drink this. Always wanted to try a BA Speedway! The jamaican coffee lends a brilliant flavor undertone throughout. The nose had so much going on. Rich caramel, smoke, peat, earth, vanilla, sugar, slight bourbon barrel burn, luscious coffee. Taste follows, it is so smooth and delicious. It was like a chocolate coffee bourbon beer truffle. Very grateful to have imbibed this. First class.

Dark, thick beer with a brown head The nose is full of coffee, chocolate, bourbon and sweet, roasted malt. The taste is smooth. It has a lot of coffee flavor but not the coffee bitterness. It tastes like smooth coffee, chocolate, bourbon and vanilla. Well balanced. No booziness from the high ABV. This beer is delicious.

Pours inky black with a mocha head that quickly settles

Complex nose....dried plum, vanilla, oaky bourbon

Taste has larger coffee notes, nice long bourbon vanilla finish. Really sticks with you

Solid body, minimally carbonated, but there is a stickiness to that really allows the depth of the beer to unfold.

750 ml bottle poured into a snifter

Pours black with a thick medium-dark brown head

Nose: very complex - fruity coffee, bourbon, vanilla, cocoa powder.

Taste: bourbon up front, rich coffee and dark chocolate, dark fruits, vanilla. More coffee on the finish. Just a touch of alcohol heat but deceptively smooth overall. Exceptional.

Mouthfeel is probably the weakest part of this beer as it comes off a bit light and overcaebonated for my taste. Still very drinkable for the abv though.

On tap during Alesmith's Order of the Anvil welcome party (3/2/18).

Smooth, rich and delicious. In typical Alesmith fashion, this beer does not disappoint. The coffee is subtle but blends well with the barrel; equal parts sweet and roasty. Thick but not heavy, smooth and not syrupy. It drinks like a 12% beer in all the right ways.
