I totally dig this beer. it is everything to me that a really good stout should be and serves well by itself or along side a properly cooked steak.

It isn't a harsh coffee...or chocolatey beer...but manages to hit it perfectly while throwing in some vanilla. Honestly the most important to me is it doesn't end up tasting like a chemical mess like some of the others I have had.

Drinking this is really a little too easy for a 12% beer.

Very chocolatey and sweeter stout with a great light feel. Starts and finishes extremely well. Checks almost every box in what you want in a stout.

Two plus year-old beer pulled from my cellar, bottled in Aug 2015. It pours jet black with a mocha head that dissipates quickly leaving minimal spotty lacing. The aroma is dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is similar with the addition of dark roasted malts and a hint of vanilla. Good heat from the 12% ABV. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, not as thick as some, but far from watery. Excellent imperial stout.

Bottled on 8/28/15; 2 years of age in a 750ml bomber.

Pours black in color with almost no head/ head retention. The little head there is coffee colored.

Aroma smells like a slightly booze-forward mocha. Tons of chocolate and coffee. Undertones of vanilla and a kiss of booze.

Taste is creamy in mouthfeel; it's not super thick and chewy (i.e. Ten Fidy) but definitely not a watery stout. More unsweetened chocolate and cold brewed coffee. Absolutely delicious.

Overall, this is a phenominal beer. It compares easily to that of ten fidy and FBS. I would buy again. I see this pairing well with chocolate dipped strawberries. It gets a 92/100.
