(12 oz can, canned on 05/22/2017.... poured into a nonic)

L: rather clear, amber-colored liquid, slight yellowish tinge around the edges... beautiful, fluffy pad of off-white foam, silky sheen

S: orange and lemon flesh, perhaps some hints of taffy and menthol... bit of spice in the back... really, the prominent aroma is that of a hyper-dense, (orange) citrus candy/syrup... hint of buttery sandwich cracker (if that makes sense, like that peanut butter variety)... essence of phenolic booze, just a nip

T: densely-layered hop flavors - spicy citrus, fresh grass, tea-like leafiness... mildly earthy and pungent, bitter aftertaste at first; later, some dried yeast and black pepper creep up, all the while maintaining a buzzing bitter green tea note... the malt, despite being pushed to the back by the surging hops, does exhibit a strong enough presence with a prominent crumbly cracker and mildly nutty quality

F: dry and level in the middle, while the top of the palate is lightly aflame with the collective phenols and booze heat and the chest warm and slightly reddened... the back end dryness makes this easy to knock back... body takes on a silkier viscosity as it warms - but don't let it sit too long

O: what stands out is the bold hop and malt flavors (almost balanced) and its charged, spicy/warm/bitter finish with a more clipped back end than expected... the taste isn't all that unique, but it's forceful and enlivens the senses

Enjoyed this IPA very much...it had nice citrus thru-out with a nice hops punch. with a nice off-white foam and with lite amber color. As for the nose... it is odd how the nose does not match the taste. The nose is smooth and sweet florals, but mouth is a little more on the edge...that is probably the no. 1 reason I enjoyed this beer. A must try for that reason if for nothing else. Fun beer thru and thru !!!

Nice see through orange/copper look to this brew with a nice white head. Strong grapefruit and citrus notes with some malts on the edge. Very citric in flavor with a caramel malt backing that goes very well with this particular beer (caramel malt not my favorite for an IPA) I was really surprised how much I like the flavor of this one. Medium in mouthfeel and carbonation with some bitterness.

Pours a clear gold with a white head. Smells of sweet tropical fruits, citrus, hops, and malts. Tastes of hops, tropical fruits, mild pine, and some sweet malt. Medium-heavy in body and medium in carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel. Overall it's a very tasty IPA with a great body.

Hops are front and center in this classic from AleSmith. It pours a clear copper with a decent foamy white head and spotty lacing. The aroma is strongly floral and fresh, with rose and juicy tangerine, grapefruit, pine, and honey sweetness. It wafts things juicy and enticing. The taste is sharply and unexpectedly bitter. Within the bitterness remains tangerine, grapefruit, pine, orange, peach, and flowers. While I enjoyed the floral nature of the aroma, flowers in the mouth are not as pleasant as flowers on the nose. It's like comparing the smell of roses to drinking rose water. But there are a lot of other more positive things going on. The bitterness mellows as it warms and the juicy tangerine reasserts itself along with some honey and sweet bready malt, like a brioche. Then the sweetness recedes as the hops are noticed yet again, this time rounder and more mellow, the juiciness still prominent. Finishes a bit dry and bitter, but not as much as I expected. Overall at first I was enticed, then confused, then I enjoyed it tremendously, then a bit confused again, and on balance I think it was a bit busy but I would certainly revisit it.

Bottle into a snifter. It has a golden orange color. The smell is hoppy: tropical, citric, little fruity.
The taste is fruity and citric, little piney. It is smooth of hops with a bitter aftertaste, but not very bitter.
It has a medium body, and is not very resiny. Still tastes very hoppy.
