750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Pours near black with half inch creamy tan head.

Nose: Coffee and some roasted malt

Taste: Follows the nose. Coffee forward with bittersweet finish, no alcohol heat. Solid coffee stout.

Feel: Medium body, smooth

Had on tap. Medium black with dark brown head and tinting. Smell has earthy and luxurious coffee with almost a fruity and floral flair, odd, with milk chocolate, roasted caramel malt and a hint of vanilla. Taste opens up, lets the coffee complexity star, LET WARM UP, gets much more complex. Thick, roasty, lush, earthy, and malty, great body considering no barrel is involved, wow.

Horus is doing a fine job accumulating accolades and hype in the beer community, so when they paired with a well-respected local goliath in Alesmith, beers nerds were intrigued. Speed hawk is a big, monstrous stout made with some sort of fancy pants, astronomically expensive Geisha coffee. Its super smooth, rich and decadent while not being too bitter nor too sweet. Alesmith mentioned that theyre saving some of this for barrel aging and that, will be something to line up for. Impressive beer.
