Notes:
We’ve teamed up once again with our good friends at Beachwood Brewing to make this behemoth west coast-style India pale ale that has been double dry-hopped with Galaxy, Cashmere, and Nelson hops. This monstrous hop blend gives this beer intense notes of passion fruit, citrus, peach, and melon. Dubbed “Tower of Flower,” this IPA is built with a solid foundation for your enjoyment!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours faintly hazy golden amber with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Citrus zest, resinous pine, backed with tropical and stone fruit, Nelson makes its presence known, grassy, subtle herbal notes, biscuity malt, and just a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Resinous, citrus, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, and lime, underlying tropical and stone fruit, apricot, gooseberry, white grape, passion fruit, under ripe pineapple, peach, and a hint of melon, grassy and herbal notes, biscuity malt, and just a touch of caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: 2 SoCal heavy hitters coming together to make a really nice West Coast IPA.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of pine, toasted caramel, orange peel and floral notes. Nice citrusy bite with piney bitterness and a toasted caramel backbone.

Mildly foggy bright golden pour with three fingers of creamy white head fading to a bubbly edge and a powder top.
Earthy and floral hops on the nose with strong notes of citrus, peach, and a bit of pine - slightly dank.
Up front tastes sweet - ripe orange, peach, with a honeysuckle floral hit - dank resinous pine at back with a crisp earthy bitterness.
Medium mouthfeel - initially thought a bit thin but honestly as worked through a sticky hop character made clear not the case - moderate carbonation and a nicely integrated bitter kick.

Pours a hazy light orange with soft, soapy head.
Smell is fruity and a bit sweet and floral. Notes of orange juice, grapefruit, passionfruit, peach and some dank melon. Some piney hints as well.
Taste is fruity and a bit herbal and floral. Notes of citrus, passio nfruit, peach, pine and black tea. Moderate, perfectly balanced bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and sticky with good cabronation.
Overall, a great hybrid IPA. I would expect nothing less from these breweries.

Look: It pours yellow with some cloudiness to it. It has a white head and head retention is moderate.
Smell: The aromas are up front with stone fruit and a bit of dankness. There is peach in support with citrus that is like pink grapefruit.
Taste: It has flavors of peach and passion fruit with melon. There are also some pink grapefruit notes in the background.
Feel: It has a medium body with a pleasant bitterness to it.
Overall, the hops really blended well and created bright bold flavors.

Clear yellow brew with abundant foam in the Aventinus weissbier glass. Quite prickly on the tongue with a medium malty body. Warm and malt-tasting with just a slight sweetness to start. Aroma of tangerine. Moderate bitterness. Fruity flavors with notes of orange and mango.
Interesting and complex, but fairly austere. As soon as I saw Cashmere hops listed I wanted to try it. But seems like Galaxy shows up in a lot of beers lately, notably the Dichotomy Double from Belching Beaver I had last night. From the 16 oz can purchased at the big box store. Canned on 9/28/21.

Packaged on 10/28(?), consumed on 11/29 - poured from a tall-boy can into my Bruery tulip.
Turbid pastel orange liquid supports a finger of beige soft peaks. Even, loose lacing; good retention.
Tropical nose suggests mango, guava, passion fruit, and some citrus. Lower layer of spice/herbal notes emerge after some time for balance. Hops dominate.
Pungent palate entry with peach, orange blossom, coconut, caramelized pineapple, and heirloom melon cascading around the mouth. Not as sweet as my tasting notes might suggest. Finishes medium-dry with a hint of lemon-lime soda. An excellent showcase for the hops (although Galaxy and Cashmere have so much going on, I'm not sure they leave much room for Nelson's contributions?). Moderate bitterness throughout.
Creamy, zesty mouth-feel, warming/filling but not hot.
"West Coast IPA" is rather a big tent, and this is right in line with the more fruit-forward, less abrasive options available in SoCal - I like the offerings from both breweries, and am happy that the collaboration was successful (rather than a case of "too many cooks in the kitchen").

This one is all California - yeah buddy. And I’m also getting a Timothy Leary vibe from i as well. Like, it’s all tropical and hoppy like a beach bunny digging a save, but then in the end it has this wild experimental nature to it like, well, if you don’t know, do your homework, my children.
Peace.

Can’t discern the date at the bottom of the can. Never heard of Beachwood but when I see AleSmith, I don’t hesitate. This is a solid dry-hopped West Coast IPA. A bit of a piney, skunky hop bill; very dank yet clean and crisp. Just mediocre in the end.

Pours a medium gold, fairly clear with good carbonation and head. Smells piney, herbal hops, you know what it’s gonna be like. Tastes herbal, piney, buttering hops with some citrus and tropical fruits peeking thru. It reminds me of the Societe - Stone collab I had last month. It’s that SD foava, ya know. Decent effort true to style and I always enjoy a pint of a good IPA in my glass, cheers!

This brew was a collaboration with Beachwood Brewing. It was brewed to be a West coast style IPA, double dry-hopped with Galaxy, Cashmere, and Nelson hops.
This lovely brew showed up on my vendor's shelf today (Save On). It made it here in about three and a half weeks. A long way to go. It opens with a big nose of hops and pours into a nice clean West-coast style (no hazy here). It has a deep golden color and moderate lacing. The taste is nicely bittered with gobs of hops yet there is an underlying booziness (greater than expected) that gives it a malty bite. It feels like a big brew.
Recommended. Hazy IPA's are a dime a dozen right now (most of them are great), but we aren't getting enough true West-coast style. This was great for me. Something different, a new West coast IPA.
