Blond Pilsner with a neutral flavor and a fresh taste. Bright-blondish gold color with big hop nose, but ordinary dry hop flavor. Finishes just like it starts with a medium to brief dry hop aftertaste. Not bad. Quite tasty with great balance of flavors.

Appearance – Light yellow in color with some active effervescence and a big, bright foaming head that went down quickly.

Smell – Skunk with a hint of Gummi Bears.

Taste – Oh, this is nasty. The trunk is full of funk! The dead skunk and rotten candy are too much to bear.

Mouthfeel – Thin, watery, fizzy, and just plain bad.

Sinkability – I’ll stick with ouzo.

Greece has created a beer without flavor. This is that beer. Pours nearly clear with a yellow hue and a bubbly white head. The ghost of an aroma of grass and hay is there, I think. Nearly no flavor. Really. It is truly a light beer because I think it is just water that sat around in an oaken bucket. If you do not like the taste of beer, drink this.

A 330ml green bottle with a BB of Oct 2014. ABV is stated as 4.5%. Picked up from Tesco a little while back - they seem to do an odd line in Greek products.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear straw colour with medium carbonation. Forms a large head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a thin surface layer. Aroma of faint, watery malt, stewed leaves, cardboard and a touch of solvent. Bland and vaguely unpleasant.

Tastes of ultra-light malt with a mild, dry finish. Weak notes of stewed leaves, overdone veg, harsh cardboard and a twinge of solvent in the background. Highly attenuated, followed by a mild bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with prickly carbonation and a thin, insubstantial body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of acrid stewed leaves/cardboard.

Blech - this doesn't have much going for it. Looks about par for the course, while the aroma and flavour are dull and tinged with unsavoury off-notes. Lacklustre body. Unimpressive; I suppose it could quench a thirst in a hot climate but that's about it. Give it a miss.

Another beer brought to me through my friend's jounrney to Greece, and after trying their beers all I can say is cookie cutter. They are all based off of the same style and possibly very similar recipes, on slight nuances between beers. Appears a crystal clear golden tone with a white artificially carbonated foamy white head and leaves lace rings evenly as I empty the glass. The aroma contains a slight citrusy hop tone and the signature slightly skunked smell from most Euro lagers I have come across, however this one's not that bad served from a brown bottle. The flavor has sweet delicate fruit nuances with bubbly lemongrass slighlty sharp tone with the euro hops coming in to balance out the flavor of the forefront of sweetness. A really nice beer, not wonderful or impressive just nice, a light bodied go down easy in warmer weather lawnmower beer. I could definitely throw down a few of these after a days work in the sun.

This brew is more the color of water then beer. Clear, yellow tinted with large bubbles and a fluffy, white, sticky head. Ok, I guess.

The smell is musty grains and stale beer. A little bit on the college bar side after penny beer night. It's not pleasant or very enticing, so far a disappointing brew.

The taste rebounds the overall score but only a little. The beer is lightly sweet and is complimented minimally by slight carbonation and hop acidity. Not bad and actually a little refreshing. Over all the flavor is on the weak side and the whole beer could use more of everything, hops, grain, alcohol and so on. I guess drinking it on a beach 20 meters from the sea makes it taste a little better since I really don't mind it that much.

The mouthfeel is smooth to a fault. The beer is lightly carbonated and that let's you taste the flavors but it ends up tasting and feeling more like an unfinished, young beer. A harsher bite would make it all the more appealing. A middle of the road brew.

Brought back from the holiday island of Skiathos to review. It was the first of a five pilsner/lager tasting during a lovely warm, sunny afternoon in England (very rare).

This beer came last for score out of all five beers, it was up against 'Edelsteiner' (another Greek), Amstel (Holland), Gurkha (UK) and a Swedish premium lager called Stockholm, which came out top.

All beers were poured into two different glasses, a Veltins Pilsner stemmed tulip and a Watzdorfer vase. This beer looked better in the tulip because it was so light, in the thinner vase it was very, very pale indeed. The white head that appeared soon left again.

I always give a score of 3 for lagers/pilsners, unless there is something to pontificate about, there wasn't with this beer, it was completely odourless.

It was also tasteless, absolutely nothing to it, not even a straw hint, maybe a little metallic feel.

Watery, weak and no redeeming features at all.

A waste of wieght in my luggage allowance.

Appearance: Light golden color, with a moderate white head, with small streams of carbonation, and scattered broken lace.

Aroma: Pronounced green bottle skunk, with mild noble hops, and slight tart malt. In all, fairly generic.

Taste: Opens with crisp, tart malt, bitter metallic hops appear soon afterward, and linger well past the end of the taste.

Mouth feel: Soft on the palate, seems a bit thin, unremarkable, no carbonation noted.

Drinkability/notes: Not unpleasant, but quite average.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce green glass long neck bottle, served in a Pilsener glass.

Very cheap beer, and not only the price

My god, is this one crappy hellenic brew. At least for me. The potentially good 50CL bottle was too much to take itself, considering this pour, a straw golden colour with a huge amount of carbonation within (little head though), smells literally like metal, but in excessive strength so that by approaching the glass to the mouth this repulsive and overwhelming feeling lets you merely taste the beer, in turn, excessively sour and, uh, metallic with a quantious amount of bitterness to it.

Rinse your glass thoroughly when done. The metallic smell stays (in my head perhaps?)

I had this beer in a gyros fast food restaurant in paris. Only option and very cheap. Well it was clear why. There is not much this beer can offer. Boring, flat taste, light yellow color, no particular smell. Good to quench the thirst after a salty meal but not more than that.

12 oz green bottle served at The Greek Islands restaurant in Lombard, IL

The beer is straw yellow with a decent dense head. Not much lacing.

Average aroma of grain and some slight flower/spice.

Taste is well balanced between sweetness and bitterness. Not complex, but no real weaknesses. Some spiciness emerges 1/2 way through. It did go very well with the Greek food.

Average mouthfeel and slightly better than average drinkability due to its good balance. A slight step up from many generic euro lagers.

Got it from Greece,0.33l can.

A-Golden color, medium carbonation with almost no foam,it looks dead in the glass.

S-Smell is very interesting with some citrus notes and spices i think.

T/M-Low carbonation,medium bitterness,very pleasant taste,have some nice malty taste.

O-Surprisingly good beer.

Wow, it seems I keep getting these corny tasting beers as of late. I guess that's what I get. Ofcourse, it's not all that bad, I actually enjoy it. This was a lighter brew, not too sweet, like more of the Euro's are. Had a little more to the hops than others. Also had a little bit of malt present as well. Not much of an aftertaste, but was a little bit dry on the finish. Overall an ok brew to enjoy with Greek food. Give it a go if you have the chance.
