This beer was red copper when held up to the light. It had almost no head, just a slight ring around the edges.
There was a sweet maltyness to nose, almost no trace of hops in the boquet
There is a nice wave of sweetness followed by a blunt bitterness in the taste of this, it was kind of interesting, but overall, pretty average beer.
It did get a little better as it warmed but i would put the drinkability at average for this one.

Pale amber. Cloves and spices, small malt, banana. Too light for my taste...needs a bigger malt bill, imho

On-tap at Anacapa
A clear red/amber color with an off-white head. Malt forward amber ale with caramel, toffee, and toasted bread up front on the nose. Some mild hop aromas, mostly floral and citrus peel, maybe a hint of pine. The taste is also on the sweet side with toffee and bread providing most of the flavor. A hint of pine, some light citrus fruit and peel notes, and a mild bitterness on the finish.

Enjoyed on 01-24-09 - It was a sunny Saturday.
A: Pours a copper red with very little head.
S: Scents of pine, fresh grass, light citrus.
T: Grapefruity throughout. Not bitter, but a nice lingering hop after-bite.
M: Well-balanced.
D: A little too much citrus for indoor enjoyment. I think it would be a more drinkable outdoors on a spring day.
Keep 'em coming Anacapa. Your Espresso Stout (available NOW - as of this writing) is amazing!
